We were in the process of restoring this car to top notch, but when it was in the shop having the new top put on, I broke my leg and my foot. I will be driving an automatic for the foreseeable future. The things that have been done on it are brand new top and headliner, newly rebuilt engine (by Way Out Salvage) with some chrome "show" parts, new brakes all around, new EMPI wheels with new tires, still have the little nubs on them, and a new battery. The interior had been done fairly recently by the previous owner and is in nice condition. The main thing that still needs to be done on the car is some minor body attention and then a good paint job. The areas that need attention are the hood and engine lid, and the apron below the engine lid. I had planned to look for a replacement hood and engine lid, which are pretty plentiful, rather than fool with these. The battery tray area, as typical for bugs, needs fiberglass or replaced, but nothing urgent about it. As stated, the engine is newly rebuilt, new brakes, new tires, a dependable bug. I prefer a classic beetle for appearance, but after driving this super beetle, it is definitely an improvement on ride and handling from the classic bug. Concerning the number of miles on the vehicle I entered 500. The number of miles on the newly rebuilt engine is probably not even 100. I had my accident shortly after the new engine was installed. This is a no reserve auction. I had to purchase a car I could drive with a cast on, so this is sitting in our driveway and we need to move her along.
