Vehicle Detail
1991 BMW 850i, V-12 Automatic, Calypso Red, fully loaded, and just turned 83,370 original miles. The car is priced way below market to SELL. I have a new toy arriving this week and need the space. This is not your typical 850. For a start it has only 83,370 miles and the engine really shows it. The car starts easily and the engine is silky smooth and revs easily. This is fitted with the Wokke performance chip, Magnaflow mufflers and X-pipe and it sounds pretty angry. Not too loud but nothing like standard. The car drives great, air and heat work perfectly, cruise, tilt, power seat, radio, lighting, accessories, etc all work. This car runs smooth and peppy, it shifts and stops properly, and is really a pleasure to drive. The H&R Lowering Springs and the 18x9 and 18x8 wheels provide for a firm but comfortable ride. The car was lowered with H&R Springs. The Drilled/Slotted Brake Rotors, Ruff racing wheels and tires, ECS Wheel Spacers, and Lowering Springs all have about 3500 miles or less on them. The engine has been fitted by the prior owner with the Wokke Performance chips, they do make a difference in performance. The Mufflers and X-pipe have about a 2-3000 miles on them. Brand new batteries, so all is good there too. The fuel pump was replaced using genuine BMW fuel pump. Intake gaskets have been recently replaced along with new NGK Plugs. These cars have a common problem in that the computer loses its pixels and becomes unreadable. This unit has been replaced with a refurbished computer and ALL pixels are working perfectly as you can see in the video below. Rear brake pads were replaced less than 100 miles ago. Brand new BMW driver's side lower door seal. I am including with this car the Euro style door mirrors which, at least in my opinion, are vastly superior in terms of styling (see final photos). They just need to be painted to match and fitted. Finally I am including an original BMW radio in case you wish to revert the car to original. I do have the original Suspension, brake parts and also the exhaust. All of which are included. Again in case you want to revert the car to original spec OR you can sell them. The car has a small battery drain which has been traced to the driver's door. I have purchased replacement modules which need to be installed. A mechanic should be able to do this easily. One or the other is the likely culprit. Bodywork and paint is solid, a few dings which is to be expected on a 23 year old car. The rear bumper is showing a little sign of heat to the paint and a fresh coat of clear should resolve that. The big ticket items on a car of this type is the power train and you wont find a smoother engine. On Jun-28-14 at 12:41:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I tried to reduce the Buy It Now price as I noticed an oil leak under the car but eBay wont let me, saying it is removed once bids reach a certain level. I am trying to be forthcoming on issues with the car so you know what you are getting. Reserve has been met and so it WILL sell. This is a lot of car for the money. On Jun-29-14 at 07:43:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Lots of questions from potential bidders which I am answering here and with photos. The car does appear to have the catalytic converters intact under the car from what I can see so once the original mufflers are reinstalled it should be OK in a smog state. Yes, the car did clear inspection just fine here in WV. Yes, the car has clear WV title in my name. This is a private sale, I am not a dealer. No, the engine does not appear to burn oil, there is zero smoke and it sounds very smooth. I screwed up trying to insert the video of the computer before but here is another attempt: I am adding additional photos of the interior as requested. The one of the door sill shows the new door seal installed. On Jun-29-14 at 10:22:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone wanted a video of the car running and here it is. This also allows you to see the body work once more. I have now answered all 'reasonable' questions. To those that appear to expect a brand new (23 year old!) car without a blemish please consider the price versus the condition. This car is not concourse but with a little tlc will be a nice example of the 8 series. To those that are unhappy that the buy it now has vanished, I have no control over this. eBay removed it once bids were received and as the reserve has been met there is little I can do. If I see further questions during the week I will attempt to answer them in a timely manner. On Jul-01-14 at 06:38:40 PDT, seller added the following information: With the auction finishing now in just 3 days here is one final update. I have been asked to show photos and details of the replacement modules that are included with the car as well as the exhaust, suspension and brake parts. As you can see, I am including all 4 springs, all 4 rotors and the original exhaust x-pipe. The cats were left intact when the new x-pipe was installed. The replacement modules are the A1 module and the door module. I purchased a replacement door module due to the battery drain/no window droop on the driver's door window. The A1 module is apparently the other module that might be responsible for the drain. These were each $150 and can be sold by the new owner if not needed. Also, please note that the GM module (general module) has been totally refurbished. This is a common item that provides electrical issues and so this is no longer an issue on this car.
