This Deluxe 1940 Ford pickup has been in the same family for 50 years. It was last licensed in 1964. It has been under cover since it was obtained and has been in one shop building for the last 30 years. The truck is missing the seat, engine, one head light ring and the driver's side visor. There is minimal rust in the floors and cab corners. The cab roof has surface rust but is not dented. The truck was repainted some time in the past and much of the area that appears to be surface rust in the pictures is actually red oxide primer under the dark blue paint. The original color was light blue. The sheet metal cover and wooden bed floor have rotted away but the bed sides are in very good condition. The upper bed rails are in remarkably good shape. Original tailgate and chains are in place. The rear portion of the right inner fender is rusted aft of the wheel. The passenger door window glass is broken, however the regulator works. Driver's door window is complete but the regulator is frozen. The angle iron surrounding the tail lights is bolted to the box and not welded. The bed pockets are excellent and not rusty. Running boards are in very good condition and the tops have surface rust but no perforations. The grill center trim is broken but both the grills are in excellent condition with no damage I can see. All fenders are in excellent condition except the left rear which has been scraped aft of the wheel opening and cracked at the inner wheel lip. The fender itself would be an easy fix. The driver's door lower hinge was broken away from the door and repaired sometime in the past, that patch has broken loose and there is sheet metal damage in the jam and exterior surrounding the hinge. That issue is the most significant body issue I've found with the truck. The driver's door handle is missing but all other handles and cranks are in place and the doors latch fine. I have not disassembled any of the mechanicals or brakes so I have no knowledge of their condition. The wheels roll free and nothing appears to be locked up or dragging. The radiator is included. There are miscellaneous dings and dents as you'd expect, but vehicle is well preserved. The truck has a clear Idaho title. This truck is advertized locally and I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time before the reserve is met.
