1982 was the first year Mercedes introduced a turbo charger for the gorgeous 123 series 2 door diesel coupe . These cars already had a reputation for being extremely reliable and economical . Now they also had plenty of power for every use . You can comfortably cruise with 90 mph and still get 27 mpg of diesel . Mercedes only made 8007 of these coupes for the american market and even though most of them are still driving , very few of them are as clean and pampered as this one . This car has always been very well maintained and it shows . It comes with service records since new for over $20000,- . In 1994 the car overheated due to a faulty water-pump . The car was out of warranty , so the first owner purchased and installed a brand new engine from Mercedes and had it installed to the tune of $ 9707,- . At the time the car had 79526 miles on it . So the new factory engine has less than 100k miles on it . The car looks and drives accordingly . Just last week the complete AC system was gone through . It was also converted to the R134 freon and it blows very cold from all the vents . There are no mechanical issues and i could not think of anything it needs . This 300CD always starts up right away and it is a pleasure to drive . The transmission shifts wonderful through all the gears and the engine has lots of power. All the windows and the sunroof are working . The tachometer and the cruise are working fine . Even the original radio including the power antenna are working the way they should . The body is in wonderful condition and the paint shines like on a much newer car . This car has been mostly garaged and pampered and it shows . The interior is in excellent condition as well . There are no rips or tears in the seats and the door panels are clean  . There were always floor matts and the carpets are in great shape underneath . Even the wood panels inside are in outstanding condition . There are no cracks and even after 32 years they still shine . You would really have to see this car to realize , how nice it is . It is a beautiful color combination ( color code 930 " silver blue" with dark blue MB-Tex interior) and with the low miles it would be a wonderful addition to any car collection . It would also be a great classic car you could actually drive every day without the worries usually associated with older cars . There are several car with this engine on Ebay right now with over 400k miles and still running well . If you maintain this kind of car properly , the way it has been maintained , then it can really last you a lifetime. I would prefer to sell this gorgeous 300CD locally to somebody who could actually come out and see it / test drive it . But i would also be willing to help with shipping arrangements or an airport pick up for out of town buyers. This is a great looking and running 32 year old car and it will be sold " AS IS "  ,  "WHERE IS" and WITHOUT a warranty .
