Found out about it being sold and simply purchased because we liked the car and still do, purchased it directly from the sheriff’s department with a clean title and transferred into our name after purchasing, not purchased from a dealer or broker, directly from the agency. We recently moved and simply don’t have the room anymore in our garage to keep the car and our daily use vehicles so decided to turn it into cash! The history of the car before we purchased it in January of 2013 is unknown on our end, we do know it was titled in Florida and beyond that we have no idea or history. We are also not antique car collectors by any means and have not researched but sure someone in the business has a way of finding history on a unit like this. Since we have owned the car it has been stored indoors, tires have been replaced with new ones, the engine and transmission have been serviced, plugs/wires and basic tune up have been done, belts have been replaced, heater core and line replaced, the air conditioning has been checked out and something is needed to fix a leak involving the air compressor but was not fixed simply because our local mechanic did not know where to get the parts. We have not painted anything, repaired any bad spots, patched anything up, simply did the things listed above and washed, waxed and cleaned the car. The negative things to bring out are first of all the top has a rip/tear in it and several inside liner tears, structure of top is fine and it works, one latch handle on the top has a piece broken off but still works, the stereo works but is not good, the air conditioning blows but is not cold, the sun visors fold into place but the end cap that holds them is missing, the driver’s side door handle has a few bolts/screws in it that are not factory, both door handles driver and passenger are a different shade/color than the door panel itself, the driver’s side cover around the power window switch is not attached good and falls off, the rubber gasket in front of the rear window is torn, the black dash panel to the top left of the odometer cluster actual plastic is fading into white color, the manual door lock screw on caps are missing, the chrome rear bumper has light spots where the chrome is orange peeling, real chrome just cracking lightly, the driver’s seat is torn, the car exterior has two very small dings on the driver’s door, it has light rust on the bottom of each door, it has several rust spots under the car, one spot in the frame can be seen, most rust spots are simply surface rust, all of these negative strikes against the car can clearly be seen in the photos! The positive things to bring out are first of all it is a power convertible, automatic transmission with power windows and air conditioning which was a loaded Mustang in 1973. It cranks right up, drives down the road/highway great, has a good comfortable ride, responsive/quick take off, shifts out great, all power add-ons work and just a good dependable car. As mentioned earlier we purchased it pretty much like it is, we have not painted, patched or really even done serious polishing/cleaning on it. It is going to have a new owner regardless of price so you have a fair chance just like everyone else bidding. We are not a collector or antique car dealer and simply don’t want the car any longer and would rather have the cash!
