Vehicle Detail
1959 356 A 1600S Cabriolet If your looking for 99% complete matching numbers 1959 356 A 1600S T2 Cabriolet to restore, this may be it. This is the last year of the A coupes and is sold with a clear Missouri Title. It’s a 1959 model year, built in 1958 and bodied by Reutter, Vin # 151464 and color code is 603 (white). I know the car isn't worth $99,356.00, I’m looking for serious offers though. This car restored is now selling for $170k plus. (Look all 400+ photos to see actual condition) The car was stored outside at one point, but is now undercover. The prior owner removed the engine from the car and stored it inside. This almost complete car, less the rusted out areas, is also missing the pushrods, some engine tin, oil intake, radio, pistons & cylinders and valve covers. The original hardtop is rusted badly, the soft top frame is in decent condition and may be missing a buckle, I also purchased replacement chicken wing brackets for the soft top frame from Autos International. The door locks / latches aren’t keeping the doors closed. The original Kronprinz wheels are date stamped, one is ‘57 and three are ’58, currently I have spare rims on the car, I reserve the right to put the original rims back on prior to sale completion and keep the rims that are shown on the car. The engine number is 83061 - 616/12 1600s and case number 27580/1600s and is correct for model year. Beside missing engine parts mentioned above, the pulley is cracked. The front windshield is also cracked, see photos. The interior and seat are complete, but rough. The tires have dry rot, but have newer inner tubes and also missing some lug nuts. Currently the car has no brakes as they have been disconnected. The steering wheel and horn button has a crack or is broken. The chrome on the front bumper overriders is very nice considering and the rear bumpers are broken along with tail lights. No Kardex or tool kit. I have over 400 photos for you to look at, copy and paste links below. http://s1014.photobucket.com/user/splash851/library/ or slide show http://s1014.photobucket.com/user/splash851/slideshow/ Please ask all any any questions prior to bidding or making an offer and I’ll do my best to answer them. I’ve tried my best to describe this car accurately, but may have missed something, I have nothing to hide, that’s why I took so many photos. Again serious offers only !! I will accept deposit only through Paypal of $1000, balance to be paid through wire transfer within 5 days. I reserve the right to end the auction as I have also advertised it on other websites as well as local. I’m a member of 356 Registry and belong to a local 356 club, so buy with confidence. The car is being SOLD AS-IS, WHERE IS, buyer responsible for transport.
