Vehicle Detail
This is a truly pampered car by myself and the original owner. The original owner actually covered all carpets up until the time I purchased it and I left them covered until a couple months ago. That is why the carpets are also like new condition. I believe the original owner really cherished this car and wanted to have "muscle" and "luxury" as a lot of car buyers were doing in the 1960's. He was the only driver and like I said, he never took it out at night and that is why the headlight doors not only still work but are still factory lined up with the grill. This is something you can check with other LTD's of this year and will see are not lining up with the grill. However if they need adjustment, it is easy to do. The seats are a very comfortable nylon which use to be called "pant cloth" trim seats. The seats are tear free which is amazing and just have a few hard to see water stains. That is the only problem with this material seats. You have to be careful not to get anything on them and if you see them you will agree, not bad for 46 year old seats. Even the steering wheel is not cracked like every one I have seen. They all crack but not this one and the horn ring is not bent in either. Very unusual condition for this age car. Then you check the outside of the car and the same condition. So I really had nothing to do on the inside or outside of car so I did some vanity items. I put "Moog" best quality front springs in and "Monroe" "coil over shocks". Also new power steering pump, water pump, and very expensive intake gasket. Also I installed "Remflex" manifold gaskets. Please google Remflex and you will see they are the best gaskets you can buy and they quieted the manifold to like new quietness. They are only available on the internet and are worth every penny. The car has the original very quiet in the front and the Ford sound to the rear with the 390 dual exhaust. Just a great automobile. The car has been completely tuned up also and has new rear shocks with coils over them as well. It has a new gas tank also. New rebuilt carb also. Also has 4 new tires. The Air Conditioning is the best I heve ever felt,,,,,it is freezing cold and has the new C134. The windows are air tight so much you can hear your ears pop sometimes. Amazing! At this age, all the rubber should be no good but is like new like all the chrome. I am telling you, I just marveled at the car for hours trying to find rust or any tarnishing chrome and could not find anything except a little tiny whole near the gas tank filler door. The owner did forget to keep the water drain clean which I cleaned out right away and filled the little whole. The trunk is huge and flawless. I put in a white blanket which you will see in the pictures. I did that for a little extra insulation. I like a luxury sedan as quiet as I can get it. Even the beautiful wire wheel covers are flawless. Those are usually full of broken spokes. I am retired and the money is not that plentiful. If I end up keeping the car, I will complete it with rear coils even though I could get away without them. I like it to sit factory perfect and think I can get 1 or 2 inches on the rear. I also will need 1 brake line in the front and my mechanic said he would do it for $50.00. I am going to wait on the brake line as it is fine the way it is. The power steering pump, intake gasket, manifold gaskets and water pump just cost me $1200.00 and that was a lot of work for the money but think I will leave the brake line to the new owner. Oh yes, the master cylinder is also new. So as you can see, almost everything is done. The window tint is factory and it looks great. The windshield and all other glass is also flawless. No pitting at all on any of the glass. I really think this car was given better care than fine china. Feel free to call if you have any questions at 239-257-4693.
