Vehicle Detail

Here's the story: Over 20 years ago my father and I were bitten by the TR bug, or re-infected in my dad's case as he had a TR4 as a young man. Somehow we came to own several triumphs with the goal of spending time bonding over a mutually enjoyable hobby of auto restoration and tinkering. Regrettably, we weren't ever able to "complete" a car as I think our donors were too rough, and our dreams were larger than our ability, wallets and time. It didn't help that I grew up, got married and moved away! Long story short, we ultimately got what we really needed, in the experience and time spent bonding together. That said, the fever has subsided and neither of us is in a position to rekindle the hobby at the level required by the projects we have, but we'd like to see our investment go to someone appreciative and hopefully recoup whatever we can in the process so we're liquidating our storage unit! Happy bidding! Here's what's inside: Our first foray into the hobby was with a GT6 that turned out to be a total rust-bucket. That car is gone, but had been stripped to make a Spit6 (GT6 convertible). To that end, we've got everything to complete that project including a nice late 70's Spitfire that has had a lot of really nice upgrades already. While not currently running anyone who knows these cars could have this on the road EASILY this summer with fresh gas, a tuneup, and new hydraulic seals as they're natural rubber and have probably decayed by now. This was a runner/driver when parked and has been garaged since we got it. Below is a list of upgrades: Overdrive trans (While installed, the previous owner never had this wired and it is not functional but appears complete.) Monza exhaust front to back Webber down draft Electronic Ignition (Crane) New top/interior Steel braided lines Chrome bumpers This car has a clean title, indicating it's a '78. Also included are the vin plates and title for the GT6 in case you want to do something like make it a "Convertible GT6" instead. ;) For the GT6/Spit there is: GT6 engin/trans/rear - these came off a running car, and there's an assortment of extra motors, trans and misc. boxes of parts for spit/gt6 models. Now the good stuff!! We WANTED to start with a 3, but my eagerness got the better of me at the Carlisle show, thus the above, but we were prepared to spend some TIME on this so we also picked up the below along the way!! '57 TR3 (TS21544 L C) - This is a small mouth with factory overdrive and wire wheels. '60 TR 3A - This car is mostly disassembled. Pretty standard 3A, but it came with a factory hardtop (sans glass). Both these cars are in need of full restoration. Both are rough and ~90% complete though together you could probably make one good car given the boxes and boxes of parts. To my knowledge neither has been in a significant accident and I believe the frames to be solid. Standard rust spots in sheet metal like floors, trunks, and rockers (and elsewhere?). Clear titles are in our possession. The overdrive tranny for the '57 was said (and looks) to have been rebuilt. At last check both motors turned. Please click this link for additional pics. All of these cars are currently located in a storage facility in White Oak MD, about 10 min north of the Capital Beltway. As such, we will not ship or assist with shipping arrangements. We WILL assist with transfer of the storage unit should you need/want extra time to facilitate moving or picking up the cars. As this is my first sale of a car on Ebay, please be sure to be in contact to ensure this all goes smoothly. We will expect $500 deposit within the first 3 days. PayPal, certified check, or cash in person are all acceptable. On Apr-14-14 at 16:09:17 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATED!! Here's the SHORT story for those who just want the details... This is a "LOT SALE" or "PACKAGE DEAL", for THREE Truimph sports cars (TR3, TR3A & Sptifire), engines, tranny's, boxes and boxes of parts, tools, and whatever else is in this storage unit. They have been garaged for over 20 years. These cars will not be sold individually, sorry. More pics can be seen by clicking HERE! All of these cars are currently located in a secure storage facility in White Oak MD, about 10 min north of the Capital Beltway (zip 20904). You're on your own for shipping, but we can arrange for you to assume the lease of the storage unit until you can arrange transport. Here's the LONG store for those who like that stuff...
