Vehicle Detail

For sale 1964 Chevy Corvette project. Rare (not holy grail rare, just rare) 1964 Silver Blue coupe with 365 HP V8, close ratio 4 sp, AC, 3:36 Posi with dark Blue int. Numbers matching, engine(block and heads), trany, date code correct rear, starter, glass and carb. I have taken the body off the frame and completely rebuilt the frame, suspension (front & rear) , brakes 100% new, transmission, engine, Fuel system and had the engine tested before placing the body back on the frame. The car needs a paint job, a complete dash rebuild with new wiring inside, some door internals repaired, new front window, bumpers rechromed, front headlights rebuilt, rear lights replaced and some other small misc items. Frame Sandblasted then powdercoated black, all bolts replaced with correct OE ones. No old bolts were reused. Suspension A Arms sandblasted then powdercoated black, new bushings, front and rear suspension replaced (all springs, front swaybar) through VETTE BRAKES, front spindles blasted, new AC DELCO shocks front and rear, new bearings front and rear. Brakes new front and rear brakes (shoes, install kits, wheel cylinders, brake hoses) through VETTE BRAKES, new brake lines, master cylinder, power booster, fluid, front backing plate blasted and powdercoated, rear blasted and painted black (not powdercoated) Fuel System New gas tank, sending unit, lines, gas fill door, hoses ect. Only rebuilt part was the fuel pump, original unit, hard to find replacement. Engine, 327 block date is K 25 3, heads are K 23 3 and K 25 3. I had engine rebuilt and tested. The only used parts are the block, crank Harmonic balancer and heads. The block is .40 over. I built the engine to OE spec except for replacing press in studs with threaded ones and using different rockers. The cam is a Dontov 30/30 flat tappet unit. Compression is 11.1 and the dyno test showed 356 HP @ 6200 RPM. I was luck the car came with most of the original engine parts. When rebuilding the engine, I was told the engine wouldn't work well with the power booster, not enough vacuum. I have a 64 Fuelie Vette with power brakes and it uses the same cam and compression as this engine. It runs fine with the vacuum it produces. Transmission Original M21close ratio 4sp, rebuilt and ready to go. Rear diff is a 3:36 Posi with correct date code for this build. I'm not sure if it's original as the L76 365HP engines came standard with a 3:70 posi and the close ratio trans wasn't used with anything lower than a 3:70 rear. I did stick with the 3:36 gears and just replaced the clutches, bearings and seals. Interior Was dark blue. Looks like it was replaced with a custom gold and black interior in the seventies. I have new dark blue carpet, arm rests and very good used door panels. I have new window cranks, door handles, door panel screws and weather shields for behind the door panels. Exterior Was Silver Blue, but again looks like it was repainted gold in the seventies. The gold was painted over the Silver Blue and is flaking off in some areas. AC Was missing the compressor when I picked it up, now has a good core with brackets, has all other AC parts, but will need a good going through. This car hasn't run in over 30 years. I may have missed something. Please ask if you need more info. On Apr-14-14 at 17:05:51 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several folks ask for other photos. If anyone wants to see additional photos, just ask. I wish I had more room for more images, block casting # head casting #, cast dates ect. Please ask if you need more images.
