Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1965 Honda CT 200 (Trail90) with 672 original miles. We are losing our storage and it is now time for it to have a new home. I have had this bike for about 20 years and have done nothing to it but dust it off … this bike is original and unrestored. The bike was bought at Norm Reeves Honda, a local southern California dealer, and was used as a field vehicle on one of the Channel Islands. I am the second owner and all I did when I bought it was clean it, put air in the tires, and store it covered in our garage. I never intended to restore it, since it is pristine and original. As you can see, everything is very good to perfect, including the seat, bars, lights and fenders. The front fender is slightly bent off-center, but not cracked. The muffler and brush guard/heat shield are nearly perfect, just some very slight surface rust. There are a few small, minor scrapes (it was used off-road) that should show in the pictures. The tank is clean with no rust, though hard to see in picture. I have the second seat, extra chain, spark plug, battery and a xeroxed service manual. This Trail 90 is truly a Museum piece and the pictures will give you a great idea of its condition. All I did was dust it off before I took the photos this morning. It has been stored dry since 1970 and everything is original – battery, tires, spark plug, complete tool kit, keys, etc… I have not started it, but the engine is free and has compression. I am not sure how much it will take to get it running, maybe just a tune up, gas, oil, plug and new tires – these tires are original to the bike and look good but I’m not sure I’d ride on 49 year old rubber. Original CA black plate; the registration was renewed through 1980, though the bike was never used after a year or two on the island, and it has never left the southern California area.A similar, restored 1965 CT 200 just sold on April 3rd for $1,800. Our price is very reasonable for an original and unrestored bike of at least equal value. This will make a great addition to your vintage Honda collection or an ultra-cool bike to ride. Please contact me if you have any questions – thanks for looking and good luck. Local pick up only and I will be here to help you load it.
