This gorgeous Mercedes 560SL was purchased on March 11th of 1986 for the original owner by his father at McDonald Motor Company in Ventura California . It spent its whole life garaged and pampered in Oxnard/ CA . It was supposed to stay in the family forever and it was maintained accordingly . But the last 15 years this car was hardly driven anymore except the occasional short Sunday drive and for Smog and registration purposes . This is why it is here for sale now after all . This car was finished in anthracite grey ( MB color code 172 ) with black leather ( code 271) interior and a black soft top . It is an unusual and stunning color combination and it really stands out . You will find a lot of good looking red or black 560SL , but i have not seen many in this color . The body and the paint are in amazing original condition with only small scratches from 28 years of careful use . There is no rust or accident history at all . Since this SL was always garaged and covered the interior is in exceptional condition as well . The leather on the seats is still soft , the carpets are clean and even the wood is in perfect condition . The original radio was replaced with a Alpine stereo with detachable face and a cd-changer in the trunk . ( it was the eighties .... )  But the original radio does come with the car as well .  The car also  comes with a hard top and the original soft top . Both are in great shape as well . This 560 Sl is in truly wonderful shape , as the many pictures will show . Yet the best thing is the way it drives . With only 77k miles it was driven an average of less than 3k miles per year and always serviced very well . It comes with the stamped Mercedes service book all the way until 74034 miles and all the service receipts. Whenever this car needed anything , it was always attended to right away . This Mercedes always starts up right away , there are no weird noises and it is a pleasure to drive . Everything is working the way it should and i could not think of anything it needs . It would make a great investment for a collector or you could drive it every day without the worries usually associated with classic cars. I would prefer to sell this car locally to somebody who could actually come out and see it / test drive it . You should not be disappointed . I would also be willing to help with shipping arrangements or a airport pick-up .I am sure , you could drive this SL back safely anywhere in the United States. The CA plates are private plates and they will have to get back to the original owner . This is a wonderful 28 year old classic car in great shape and it will be sold " as is " and WITHOUT a warranty . Please have your funding in order and do all your " due diligence"  BEFORE placing a bid .
