Vehicle Detail
I am selling my beloved Volkswagen Single Cab Transporter. 1961. Its an awesome little machine, daily driver. I have owned it for 2 years. I am the 3rd owner. Clean title. It has some rust issues in the treasure chest and around the rear panels, But it's all relative. Nothing is going to fall off. And for someone looking to do a restorethe thing runs great and man is it fun to drive. You wont win any land speed records in this but you'll look great getting there. Email me any questions. I'm ok with whatever it sells for so I am starting the bidding low. This might be the project or grocery getter just for you. It has served me well and I am sad to see her go, but the universe is telling me to let go of a bunch of stuff and I am listening. This is a no Reserve Auction. The high bidder is the winner. Starting out the bidding low for this awesome vehicle. $500.00 non refundable deposit is due at the end of the auction and full payment must be made by wire transfer within 3 days. You must arrange for shipping if need be. Or come pick it up and drive it away. On Mar-26-14 at 16:16:57 PDT, seller added the following information: A little back story on this Pick up. It started out life in 61 being a parts truck for a Mercedes & Volkswagen Shop in South San Francisco. The Transporter was sold By Manfred Stummp (owner of the shop) to my neighbors Landlord in 1993. He used it to do all kinds of things from hauling gravel and yard waste, to having boy scouts ride in the back for parades, until 2012 when he sold it to me. The Transporter runs fine, drives fine, stops fine. The windshield wipers quit working about 6 months ago and was no big deal for me. I'm a fair weather Volkswagen driver anyway. :) There is no hole filler on the body that I can see or know about. The truck was used as a truck all its life. I even haul hay in it. There are some rust pin holes on the floor board of the passenger side. No big deal. Near the gas tank in the treasure chest there is a rust hole about 2 inches or so. Some more rust holes near the rear panels. The underside looks good and I have posted photos . Locks work. Turn signals and lights work. Its solid, its never not started, its never left me stranded. Clutch and shifting are good too. Not a lot of play in the steering either. If I was to keep it, I wouldn't change a thing except ad a canvas top and a roof rack. The thing is sweet. It put a huge smile on my face the first time I drove it. It still does. It just doesn't fit in my life right now.
