Vehicle Detail
2001 BMW E46 325ci convertible coupe with sport suspension;Rare steel gray/tinan red leather leather; Automatic; 120K miles (approx 10K miles/year)Every factory option - Harman Cardon surround stereo, heated seats, fog lights, alloy wheels Purchased at 110K miles in early of 2011 from BMW dealer in DE and has been parked in my garage since then when not in use. Overall Condition Recent PA inspection and emissions w/ stickers valid until Feb 2015. All lubricants changed when inspection was done. A more complete list of recent repairs is shown below. A/C blows cold. There are no check engine or warning lights lit. All power windows and power top, instruments on dash, speedometer, lights, foglights, work fine. The roof has does not leak, is not faded anywhere, and operates flawlessly. The car needs nothing mechanically and is one of the nicer cosmetic unmolested originals you will find. I would rate the interior/exterior condition 9/10. This car drives like it has 20K miles and I invite anyone looking for this model to drive this after others with less mileage. The engine pulls as hard as it did when new and virtually every normal wear and tear mechanical part has been replaced and the bulk of them have been done since 110K. Alot of money has been spent on this car since 110K miles to replace many common problems. Exterior No accidents or work has ever been done to any part of the body to my knowledge, other than than the rear bumper cover being replaced from a fender bender the previous owner had when it was close to new (work receipt totaled under $2K for that and was in 2002 I believe). Straight as an arrow on every panel. The paint on the body is original and still has a rich shine to it. The car was parked in a garage for the last 10 years and it looks that way. The exterior is about as good as you will see for an original 2001. Very few imperfections even upon close inspection. Interior The interior of the car looks new with no tears or stains and has been well kept. I replaced the floor mats with new BMW OEM mats 10K miles ago. Everything in the interior is OEM stock, including the factory BMW radio. There are minor imperfections in some of the wood trim when inspecting up close but nothing that you don't see on all of these E46 interiors. The top operates flawlessly and all electrical items work. The car comes with the OEM flip open key fob, and spare key, original owners manual, and spare tire that came with the car new. Mechanical Since I have owned the car in 2011, I have done numerous big money repairs all with OEM BMW parts done by a certified BMW mechanic (*Note: there is a timing chain, not a belt so this is a lifetime part on these cars that does not need replacement). There are no engine warning lights on at all on the dash for anything. Top operates perfectly. The is no looseness in the steering or squeeks/rattles as I have replaced all of the bushings or any worn item at first signs of it needing it. All of the normal BMW items to be done at 100K have been done. Just PA inspected until February 2015 and needs nothing. Over $4000 in maintenance done recently and this car drives like one with 20K. I am a BMW enthusiast and this was driven by my wife and only worked on by certified BMW techs and used as a weekend/backup car (3k miles annually since 2011). The following work has been done since 110K miles: New battery (replaced Jan 2014) Transmission gear lube and filter: $400New steering rack, and all new inner and outer tie rods: $1600 Brakes/rotors - $800Front suspension components including control arm bushings and wheel bearings (front and rear bearings) Rear suspension overhauled at last inspection (new springs and mounts): $600 Coolant system overhaul - New radiator and all coolant hoses (they become brittle over time) - $900 Complete engine tuning with updated software, new plug/wires, and new coilpacks all done by certified BMW tech - $650 Just changed oil with 6.9 quarts full synthetic - $75Misc sensors etc Tires have about 75-80% treadlife remaining (see pic).
