Vehicle Detail

How I came to own this Hudson, started with an interesting phone call. One of my good buddies gave me a call and he said "Shawn, you have to get over here fast, this guy just showed up here with one of the coolest Pickups I've ever seen". I immediately hopped in the car and Bee lined to his shop. Sure enough, there she sat and I was immediately taken to a whole new World. The curvature of the fender and bed flares to the enormous and dramatic front end, this Pickup accentuates beauty. One thing is for certain, whoever ends up owning it, they'll be the only person on their block (probably State) who owns one. Even after evaluating it thoroughly and coming to the conclusion that I don't possess the ability to restore it, I wasn't about to let it go. You see, I had been looking for a Pickup to build with my Son so most of my friends & family knew that I was on the hunt to find something. While I do have a great appreciation for the Hudson, she just is out of my realm of expertise. I had considered turning her in to a Rat Rod, up until the point where I purchased a 1949 Studebaker Pickup. So now the old Hudson has taken a back seat. The body of the Pickup is fairly decent. It does have rust but it is not over taken by it. For example, the cab corners seem to be pretty solid which seems to be fairly uncommon with any of these old Pickups. The rear part of the frame does have rust but I do believe it is salvageable. The motor and transmission that sit within the bed, I do not know much about. They are tagged with Hudson tags but I don't know if they came with this Pickup originally. I believe it would be safe to assume that is the case. The one big item that I found extremely interesting is the engine bay of this Pickup. I took the tape measure to it and there is approximately 40 - 42 inches of space from the Firewall to the K-Member. It is enormous in that area. Big enough to fit any big block, heck you might even be able to cram a small block in on top of that big block! It is unreal how much room is in that space. The hood setup is also reversed so it opens from the back forward which I think is kind of interesting. I will be evaluating all reasonable offers and I will in fact sell the Pickup early as we do have it for sale "locally". My goal here is to sell the Pickup. I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a time to come check it out. I would also like to add that I am usually on the phone from 7 AM until about 12 AM so you are always welcome to call and if I do not answer, just leave a message and I will return your call immediately. I know from my own experience with purchasing cars online, most of the time it is very difficult to get someone on the phone and to obtain the information you need. So I try to always stay on top of emails and phone calls. This Pickup is being sold on a Bill Of Sale. As always, good luck and happy bidding! Thanks, Shawn (816) 308-0351 I also have several other highly collectible automobiles on eBay right now! Please feel free to check them out by clicking here! Thank you!
