Vehicle Detail
OK, tired of having a car like everyone else? Here's your chance to get a rare and nice car at a reasonable price. This is a FACTORY ORIGINAL 65 Plymouth Sport Fury with (believed to be) original drive line 426 wedge motor and 18 spline 4 speed transmission. (Same tranny used on the Hemi's). See picture of Galen Govier's letter decoding the engine pad. Chrysler did not stamp VIN numbers on engine or transmission on their cars. This is an original California blue plate car that I purchased about 4 years ago. (Plates will go with car) I did extensive work including engine removal and detailing, new clutch, complete Legendary interior (seats, carpet, door panels). Many parts replaced during my ownership with factory correct parts. Some of the major parts are: Radiator, Alternator, Carb, Intake, Exhaust, Shocks, Trim and Emblems, Rear main engine seal. Engine runs strong and was completely rebuilt prior to my purchase. Car is solid as you would expect from a California blue plate car. It drives nice and has great brakes. These C bodies are great road cars. I took it on a 150 mile cruise in January and had no problems. All gauges work except the tach. Actual mileage is unknown. Very rare car. My father bought one of these new in 1965. This is the only other 426 4speed Sport Fury that I have ever seen and I have been looking all my life. I believe only a few dozen were made. (Chrysler did not keep records). This is one of three that are listed on Galen Govier's Registry. Thanks for taking the time to look at my car. Prebuy inspections are welcome. I will end auction early for the right offer. Give me a call if you have any questions or want a more complete description of the car. The HP stands for high performance. Without the HP the engine would be a 426 truck or industrial engine replacement. It is very difficult to find an HP engine. On Mar-24-14 at 13:41:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I do have 2 solid rear quarter panels and skirts that winning bidder can have for free if wanted. They are large and would not fit inside the car or trunk.
