1963 Volvo 544 This Volvo 544 was purchased on March 26, 1963 in Southern California and immediately moved to Palo Alto, California. All it's life, this car was owned by an older lady who quit driving long, long ago, and kept promising to sell it to me and finally, she did. This car is my daily driver, it might not be as smooth as a new Lexus but I enjoy driving it a lot and it's an extremely dependable car. Determining the actual mileage after all these years is next to impossible, but certainly for years before I got it, it was driven as an occasional car. Car was regularly maintained and serviced by Volvo dealer, and the B18 engine was redone a few years back. It starts up and runs very smooth, shifts excellent and the clutch is strong. However, I will not provide any warranty and the car will be sold on an as is basis. Windows and lenses are chip and crack free. The body is in very good shape, no major dings or dents. Paint is in perfect condition on the sides, but the hood, top and trunk, it's not as shiny as the sides, might improve with buffing. In general, the car is in good condition, please see the pictures. This has been a California car all it's life, so there is no major rust issue. Some moderate deterioration is on the very edge of the trunk by the bumper, rest of the trunk is perfect with original paint. Undercarriage looks good as well there some spots on driver pan, please see pictures. On the body, only visible spot is about one inch by the front fender, very minor and manageable, please see pictures. Trunk seal has already been replaced, so there would be no more moisture in trunk due to a dry rubber seal. In general, very solid for it's age. Interior is in very good shape, no rips but there is some discoloration as you can see. Original radio is included but un-hooked. All original rubber flooring is good and under black carpeting. Suspension and brakes feel solid. Car is in original factory condition, the only after market part is the shift knob, however the original shift knob will be included as well. Nothing is missing, all scripts are there and come with special Volvo handbooks. Please be noted that the car is still original, not restored. Please see pictures and be the judge. I tried my best to describe the car to the best of my knowledge along with some help from a Volvo mechanic. Car is California SMOG exempt, it's already registered and holds both of the classic California original black license plates.
