Vehicle Detail

To many toys, so something has to go. Up for sale is my Pristine 1985 Honda 250es Big Red. It is in absolutely mint condition. If there are others like in the U.S., they are few and far between. It is missing nothing. Nothing shows any sign of notable damage. It has been garaged it's entire life. It has only been ridden in fair weather and little of that. It wears all three original Ohtsu tires. These may be the finest example of these tires in the U.S. The pictures will show the many black hairs that have never been worn off and if you look closely you can still make out the Red line that would have ran all the way around the tires when brand new. They are still very elastic and they lose absolutely NO air. The decals and all stickers are all original and in excellent condition. Tank and fender decals are pristine. The rear trunk lid decal has some wear, a reproduction is being included in the sale. It is up to the new owner if they wish to apply or leave 100% original. Pictures will show the original Showa front fork shock stickers. These are on the inside of the front forks and are in excellent condition. Few people probably even know that these stickers exist. The pictures will speak to the condition of all other stickers/decals. All plastic is as near to mint as humanly possible. Zero cracks. Very few and minor scratches only. Very minor. All original black plastic is in place and intact. Fender trims (usually missing) are in place and in excellent condition. Front and rear fender Mudflaps are jet black and gorgeous. The trunk box and trunk lid are perfect. All lights are in excellent working order. No cracks or damage of any sort. All very bright. The removable Headlight has never had the cord unwound and this can all be seen in the pictures. The cord wears the original cord binder from Honda. The rubber mounts that the light sits in are very elastic with zero dry rot. Pictures will show that all dash lights work and are bright as well. This trike starts, runs and drives as if off the showroom floor. Turn the key on, turn the gas on, set the choke, touch the start button once and it's running. No need to feather the throttle or anything else. Let it warm up under choke, turn choke off, get on and ride a true piece of history and try like hell to contain your smile from splitting your head in half. Seriously. Anyone who sees this machine wants to talk to me about it. It is in an unbelievable condition and is so unique that people are drawn to it. It receives oil, oil filter and differential fluid changes on a regular basis if necessary or not. It wears the original Air Filter. It shows zero damage or wear. It is never ridden in sand or extreme dust, so no reason to change but rather clean filter. It pains me to sell this beautiful machine, but it is in such a condition that I cannot bring myself to ride it hard or through the brush for fear of scratches. This being the case it is reserved to be a garage queen, putting around on my few acres or down to the mailbox for the mail. It deserves to go to someone else who can love it and do as they like with it (collection or trail rider). Over the years I have collected a few noteworthy items. The '85 did not come with the Owner's Manual holder under the trunk lid. I have added one and it holds the original and excellent Owner's Manual seen in the pictures. The trike has a San Angelo Mnf. Stump Guard on it. This makes riding long rides and standing up on the trike much more enjoyable (can be seen in pics). The tensioning nut on the right hand brake lever has worn a hole in the rubber boot over it. I have another boot that will be included and can be seen in the pictures. I have the entire Service Manual printed and in a three ring binder. This will go to the new owner as well. I don't know what else there is to say.....this trike is one of few, I am sure. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. I know this trike in every detail. I have tried to capture all aspects of the machine in pictures. If there is something that you must see to set your mind at ease, please contact me and I can arrange to take another picture to clear up any questions. I assure you that this machine is as spotless as they get. I do have the trike listed locally and I reserve the right to end the sale on EBAY is someone locally purchases the trike first. Don't miss out on this. I will accept payment through PayPal, personnel check(once cleared), cashier's check, money order or cash. It kills me but someone is going to purchase a real piece of history that has been kept in the finest condition possible. Thanks for looking. On Mar-13-14 at 19:15:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Lots of people "watching", lots of emails coming in. Lots of folks asking for a "buy it now" price. The Reserve is $3300.00 USD. Thanks for looking. Again, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. On Mar-15-14 at 12:54:57 PDT, seller added the following information: So, the high bidder is currently ae2014-alfan . I made two attempts to contact him. He has been an Ebay member for a very short period of time, he has zero feedback and his profile states that he is based in the United Arab Emirates. All of these things make me very nervous. He has failed to make contact with me and he has subsequently been put on my "blocked bidder" list. So, he can no longer bid on this item. I am selling an item that is very dear to me. I want to be 100% positive that it goes to a like minded person. So, be honest. I'm honest and upfront. If anyone has any questions or concerns, I have made it perfectly clear.....feel free to contact me. I have twice as many pictures as Ebay would let me load and I know everything about the trike. I want this to go to a good honest person. Not someone's corrupt computer program or someone who is just going to jerk me around when this is over. I intend for it to stay in North America (Canada or U.S.A.). I have no desire to mess with foreign shipping or people. There are LOTS of people "watching" this auction. I do not intend to let someone who is completely unwilling to contact me, screw this up for all of the truly interested and honest people involved. I am willing to bet that the person who had the high bid previously (the-atc-kid) is a real, honest person who would follow through. $3300.00 USD is still the reserve and the person at the end of the auction with the high bid (over $3300) will take/ship it home when paid in full. I have contacted many shippers myself and I know what the estimates are. I am more than willing to work with the winner if they need time to set up shipping and or come and get it in person. It is under cover in my garage and it can stay there for a period of time if necessary. Again, be honest and upfront and contact me if there is anything. Thanks for all the interest.
