Vehicle Detail
Beautiful, meticulously maintained, freeway driven, totally stock and original, rust-free (other than light surface), great running and driving 1977 Cadillac Seville that was owned by a retired 2 Star General in the Air Force (check out the Nellis AFB sticker on the front bumper - 2 Stars) and has spent the last 27 years in the dry, desert climate of inland Southern California and Southern Utah. This is an estate sale (title is clear and transferable) that I'm conducting on behalf of a friend of a friend whose husband passed in December. And when I say meticulous, I'm not kidding. I have a 2 inch thick file of receipts and detailed notes written by the owner regarding upkeep and repairs. The depth of record keeping is incredible. When they purchased it in 1987, it had been owned by a little old lady and only had 27,723 miles on the odometer. Mechanically, it's in excellent, original condition. Based on the receipt history (see below for an excerpt), there is a possibility the odometer has turned over twice. If that is correct, you would never know based on interior/exterior condition and how it drives. Overwhelmingly diligent maintenance and almost all freeway miles (virtually wear-free) are clearly in evidence here. The only flaw I can find is a minor exhaust leak. These Cadillac's came from the factory with fuel injection which gives them a civility rivaling today's cars. It starts, runs, accelerates, turns, brakes and stops extremely well. And it drives very tightly/solidly with no rattles or squeaks. Talk about an awesome, classy, practical, low-maintenance, vintage daily driver. The body is in extremely good condition with no accident history and original paint. The vinyl top has aged well but has some light sun cracking (barely visible). The trunk is pristine and still has the original space-saver spare tire (see pics). The undercarriage still looks great. It's only flaws are some easily replaceable, brittle plastic molding (the downside to a dry, desert climate) pieces that have broken away between the bumper and body in the rear and surface rust in several places where the paint has simply deteriorated after 37 years (see pics). There is no rust-through anywhere. Notwithstanding paint wear, the body itself has aged exceptionally well. And all the hard-to-find trim is still there and in great shape. Other than a few dash cracks and sun-baked fabric trim around door frames, the interior is in wonderful, original condition. It's so good it makes me very skeptical of the miles. Doors open and close solidly. Electric windows roll up and down smoothly. Seats, carpet, headliner, door panels, etc., are in great condition (see pics). Everything seems to work well other than the antenna (won't go up/down) and digital clock. The AC compressor works properly but does not blow cold. I suspect it only needs a recharge. And the original radio was long-ago swapped out for a Pioneer cassette deck. My name is Chris and I am happy to answer your questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. I also have tons of pictures that show every nook and cranny in great detail. Send me your email address and I'll get them to you. And you may want to consider flying in and driving it home. That would be a blast and I'd be happy to help facilitate it. This sweet 1977 Cadillac Seville is located in the dry, desert community of St. George, Utah (a little over 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Good luck and good bidding. Just an addendum. Below is an incomplete summary of some of the maintenance records in the 2 inch thick history file. Thought you may find it valuable... * New Battery* AC Compressor* AC Evaporator* Fuel Pressure Regulator* Electric Fuel Pump* Fuel Filter* Ignition Module* Exhaust System* Alternator* Tires (6000 Miles Ago But Light Cracking From Sitting)* Heater Core* Smog Pump* Brake Pads & Rotors* Windshield Washer Pump* Fan Belts* Shocks All Around (Rear Air Shocks)* Pitman Arm Seal Because of the excellent maintenance (and the above info just scratches the surface) and type of miles driven (mostly freeway), in my opinion this Seville runs and drives as if it has low miles.
