Vehicle Detail
1955 Chevy truck...i have included the vin. I bought this truck last fall from a location that had used it for a lot truck until the gas tank began to leak. I towed it home and got it started. I have done the following to the truck...removed and JB weld patched the small pin holes in bottom of gas tank then painted the tank three coats (no more leak)...ran a new gas line...installed a new sending unit in the tank...installed a new glass bowl inline gas filter...changed oil...new spark plugs...new battery...truck started right up. Installed new brake line, master cylinder, and rebuilt all four drum brakes including having the drum refinished/ground and new wheel cylinders. Sand blasted the wheels and primed and painted new yellow as seen in pics...re packed wheel bearings. I don't know if the mileage is accurate...I am not sure about the ebay spec for cab type and ebay spec for drive listed as U/K (don't know what that means)...the wheel base is 114" and the bed is 6'...so I assumed the truck is a 3100 based on what I read about the 55 trucks. Also the front bumper came from a friends 1964 Chevy truck and is not attached as you will need to weld new mounting bracket to complete the attachment. The seat appears to have come from another vehicle...pretty sure it is not the original seat. As you can see in the pics, the bed of the truck is a steel plate someone installed. I will try to answer any questions you may have with my limited knowledge. Obviously the truck is offered in "as is" condition and I hope the new owner restores it or turns to a rat rod that screams!!! NO RESERVE!!! NO RESERVE!!! NO RESERVE!!! IN RESPONSE TO THE MEMBERS QUESTION ABOUT THE FRONT AXEL AND REAR SPRINGS I HAVE ADDED TWO PICS SHOWING BOTH. TRUCK IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AS WELL. Typo in answer to member question this morning about clutch and transfer..." I did not do any work on the transfer or clutch" however as in my answer, I did put the truck in reverse and backed out of my driveway the drove it to the local high school for pics where I drove in both forward and reverse gears. Also I DO have a clear title and it is in my name. I kNOW MOST OF THE USA AND CANADA HAS HAD A ROUGH WINTER...SUMMER IS COMING AND YOU ARE GOING TO BE SAYING TO YOURSELF, "I WISH I HAD BID ON THAT 55"... There is an old saying, "when apportunity knocks, answer the door"....good luck bidding!
