I’m selling my 1973 Datsun 240z. This car is in fantastic shape and has been in Southern (La Mesa, Ramona, and Poway) California its whole life – NO RUST. I bought it last year from a 30 year Datsun designer/engineer who got it from his in laws who were the original owners (check out the picture of the warranty card). He always did, and I always do have it garaged. The engineer took it down to metal about 6 years ago, had it painted Nissan yellow, rebuilt the engine, added headers, replaced the points with a Pertronix unit, and swapped in a 5-speed (it was originally automatic). Since I got it, I had the old AC replaced with a modern unit (no need to source refrigerant on ebay or from Mexico), swapped in those beautiful Z therapy round top carbeurators, put on a new muffler, and added Infinity speakers in the rear. But what took the most time and effort was eliminating the fume problem these cars are notorious for. With the help of a smoke machine, all leaks have been plugged and there is no issue. The car runs great and could be used as a weekend fun/show car or a daily driver. All electronics work (except for the clock of course). Paint and interior are in excellent condition. The dash has the usual repaired crack but I also have a dash pad cover that goes with the sale (as well as 3 boxes of parts including louvers for the hatch, 2 trannys, factory service manual, Uni-Syn carb synchronizer and a Colortune spark plug).
