Very rare 1938 Dodge Rumble Seat Convertible Coupe. Out of a total production of 701 convertible coupes, 3 are known to exist. This one is a mostly original 30k mile car with a repaint in the 60's. Comes with a copy of the Chrysler build tag stating color, engine number and destination of San Jose, California. The Dodge has all the original accessories such as Town & Country Radio, Tropicaire heater, Deluxe Steering Wheel, and rare fender skirts with the correct Dodge Wing trim. Spares include grills and instrument panels. Added safety features include turn signal wired to the rear lights and front low beams and a safety electrical shutoff mounted on the engine firewall. Dodge has received a tune up and carb rebuild and original hand brake cable replaced. The original automatic choke is in working order and the Dodge is a very reliable starter and driving car. There is no looseness in the steering or suspension. The convertible top and leather seats were recently redone by a previous owner. The top was restored correctly and functions well. Bows were rechromed as well as the grill and wing window trim. This is about a #2 driver car, not a concours show car. It has a few scratches, the running board rubber is original and showing age. The engine is quiet and no smoke. It is a great mopar classic to leave and enjoy as it is.
