Vehicle Detail

0 0 1 464 2646 home 22 6 3104 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Folks,First, let me clarify the Vin. Ebay will not take the Gray market Vin so I used the one I had for the 89GT I sold earlier year the Vin is WP0ZZZ92ZDS841658 and I have included pictures of the tag on the car and the actual title for proof. I am the owner. I Hope this doesn't confuse folks. It is a 83 titled as an 84 (why I don't know) 928s model 5 speed with many updates since I purchased it. this car is a grey market car meaning the car was purchased overseas and shipped to america rather than buying the car in america(Hence the odd Vin). This process was performed for folks who wanted options on the car that were not offered on the america version. In this case the rear bumper, more powerful engine, K-jet fuel injection, and german language on the instrument cluster (again I don't know why). Keep in mind the car is 29 years old and I drove it about 10K miles since I purchased it in 2007. The 928s were sold in the US but were hampered in HP (240hp) and performance due to US imports restrictions. As such many owners purchased the cars in Europe as (grey market) cars and had them shipped. In 83, This allowed the owner the 300 hp engine and the Bosch K-jet fuel injection system that is a mechanical fuel injection, essentially bomb proof. European versions debuted with 300 PS (221 kW/297 hp), and were upgraded to 310 PS (228 kW/306 hp) for 1984 model year, though it is rumored [and proven on chassis dynamometers] that they typically made around 330 hp.(The 84 corvette with the L83 engine made about 205 hp)This 928s will do 160, believe me I know. The body is hot dipped galvanized steel and the hood and fenders are aluminum. Hence the 43K price in 83. Its fun to drive and gets looks everywhere. It’s straight out of risky business. Engine Solid runner. The engine is in very good shape with many improvements,New plugs and wiresNew cap and rotorNew air filterReplaced gas tank, fuel filter, gas cap, all fuel lines and fuel pump (due to a crack in the tank) ($1000)Replaced aging motor mounts for solid.New Silicon Vacuum lines.Replace belt fan with ElectricNew radiator and upper/lower hoseesNew water pumpnew thermostatNew belt, just adjusted.(Still have old belt drive fan and has been stored upright) Replaced exhaust with latter model dual but still retained the resonator muffler. (Best of both worlds) Transmission, New redline fluidThe second gear synchromesh is going out and will need replacing but only when you are ready. Works 80% now. Tires There is no tire rotation possible with this car because the tires are directional and the front rims are different from the rear. However will need tires or replace one rear within 5K miles. A/C Rebuilt head unit (400 buck) from 928 internationalReplaced heater valve.Needs Freon Charge and R134a conversion. Headlamps ($500) Replaced US standard 7” units with S4 8” units (the way it should have been) Interior ($6000) All new leather 5 years ago from 928 leather shop. Bob did a hell of a job.Alpine CD playerNew carpetNew leather shift knob with new insertNew steering wheel leather Dash Carpet because the dash leather took a beating one-month from the sun. (Sorry I blame my brother for this) I am sure Bob can fix. Electric seats work some of the time. I believe its just bad connections. Speedo drops off sometimes (I cannot fix and believe me I tried) Exterior New door seals and gaskets ($1000)New sunroof gaskets slides and grease ($500)Sunroof paint is damagedPaint is good with three noticeable problems. One rock chip, one fender chip, and one shopping cart ding.New Front spoiler ($249)A slight teat in the rear bumper plastic What the car will need: A tune up since the mixture is running a bit richTransmission rebuilt (don’t get in a hurry since second gear still works)Engine leaks oil (oil pan gasket and value cover gaskets)Ac recharged and converted to R134. Lastly, since its winter I will be happy to store the car until March. No extra fee. No zero bidders pleaseTerms are 500 down within 24 hours and the rest within 7 days regardless of delivery options.Lastly, I purchase the car for 6K in 2007 and have over 6K in improvements. The reserve is set low because I simply need the money. This would be a perfect Christmas present for a porsche collector.Good luck bidding and feel free to ask me anything!! On Dec-24-13 at 13:34:57 PST, seller added the following information: Folks I added a few pictures of the dash showing what I was trying to discribe. I hope this helps as you can see its not too bad but certainly noticeable.
