Vehicle Detail
CONTACT JEFF AT 570-977-0741. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos that I have available here on this auction. I have many more photos available should any prospective buyer want more photos of the car. Just call and ask for them. Up for sale and your consideration is a nice 1953 Studebaker two door sedan that started life as a Champion and was transformed into a Commander with the installation of a 1960 Studebaker 259 cu.in. 4bbl. V8 engine topped with a modern Holley 4 barrel carburetor. Numbers on the carburetor air horn are 8007 and 1333. Engine is backed by a GM Borg Warner 4-Speed transmission with a Hurst Shifter. Power is transferred to an 8.8 inch Ford rear with a 3.56 ratio (non-posi). Car was built about 3 years ago and although not a 100 point show car, has great curb appeal and would be a big hit at any car show or cruise. The pictures pretty much tell the story on the outward appearance. The metallic silver roof and black body still have a great shine. Some minor stone chips can be found upon close inspection along with evidence of some rust repair at the rear of the front fenders. This is an owner restoration by an individual who was in the automotive repair business for decades. Along with the installation of the driveline, car was painted and the interior redone in black vinyl. A Studebaker Hawk dash with turned aluminum finish and full instrumentation was installed along with a new aftermarket tilt steering column. All gauges except tachometer work. Emergency brake works. Charging system was upgraded to 12 volts with an alternator. Vacuum wipers were replaced with electric wipers. Horn and heater blower are both working. Head lights, parking lights, turn signals, emergency flashers, and stop lights are all working. Front end and brakes have been refurbished. Working stereo is a modern AM/FM CD stereo unit. An auxiliary brake light is mounted in the rear window. Seat belts were added for safety. Air shocks provide height adjustment in the rear. The car rides on 7" Mopar police style rally wheels with 205-70R15 tires up front and 235-75R15 tires in the rear. A new dual exhaust system has a nice mellow tone. This is a turn key car that needs nothing but a driver and can be enjoyed immediately on the day of purchase. It is in fly in and drive home condition. If any prospective buyer has any questions as to the condition or integrity of this car I welcome and encourage the opportunity to show this car in person by appointment. Mileage is believed to be original based on the fact the title shows ACTUAL MILEAGE of 29250 on Sept. 10, 2010 and odometer shows 30186 on November 14, 2013.Please check my 100% positive feedback and buy with confidence.
