Original 1952 Chevy 3100 1/2 Ton 5 Window Pickup Truck Here we have for sale a very nice original 1952 Chevy Advanced Design 3100 1/2 Ton 5 Window Pickup Truck. This is an awesome original pickup truck that looks and drives fantastic. The truck has spent 100% of its life right here in the dry and arid climate of Reno, Nevada. It was purchased brand new from the Chevrolet dealer here in Reno in 1952 where the original owner drove it for many years here. I was fortunate enough to rescue it from the original owners family and get it back to her running and driving glory that they would like to she it in. The truck is super dry with no rust through cancer. The floors are all solid and same as the fenders, running boards and body. The cab is the rare deluxe 5 window model. These Advanced Design pickups have such a classic design that never gets old to look at. What is really awesome about the truck is that it has a completely new engine. The engine was overhauled not too long ago before it sat in a barn for a couple years. The starter, generator, carburetor, distributor, were all rebuilt. The engine compartment is all refurbished equipment to make the pickup is reliable. The truck is an absolute blast to drive, its so comfortable. The engine is smooth and shifts excellent. The clutch works fantastic and the truck cruises with ease down the highway. A couple of specialized touches that was done to the truck many many year ago was the addition of the Fulton sun visor and the chrome exhaust stacks. Like I said, they were on the truck for as long as the son of the original owner could remember. 40 years ago. The paint is my personal favorite part of the truck. Everybody can own a restored pickup but not everybody can own a truck with the patina that this one has. It could possibly have the original black paint on it, I can not confirm but its cracked, chipped, and weathered like what 61 years would do. The truck is weathered evenly from front to back. The truck has the patina that only time can create. The wheels have just been powder coated semi-gloss black and the they are accented with new Chevrolet chrome plated hubcaps and original stainless ribbed trim rings. They look perfect! The tires are radials that are the exact same size as the original size bias ply tires. I am not running tubes because of radials and I have been around old cars my entire life and I have to say this is one of the smoothest riding pickup trucks that I have ever driven. The radials are so smooth down the road. The metal is super straight overall. There is a fews minors dings dents in the front fenders. The can looks like it might have been repaired by a driver door being opened up too far and hard. I do not know for certain, the paint is just cracked more in that area. The bumpers are original and re-chromed. The rear bumper is all original rare pickup truck specific model. The original rear tail gate was stolen years ago and was replaced with a white tail gate, obviously that looked terrible against the black paint so I painted the tail gate black. It does not match the weathered paint on the rest of the truck but it still looks good. If you can find an original black paint tail gate, that would be perfect. Check out those old school chrome exhaust pipes. That was done a long long time ago. The chrome shows it too. The original wood bed is old and is missing a little bit of wood in the rear. All of the windows are intact. I had the front windshield replaced with brand new glass and rubber by Bright Glass in Reno. All the other windows are original to the pickup truck. The rubber is nice all around. The electrical has been replaced and works perfect throughout the truck. The truck is still the original 6 volt system. The turn signals works great in both front and back. The lights all work throughout the truck. Brand new OEM style tail lights are installed on the truck. The gas gauge does not work for some reason. It could either be a fuse or the connection at the fuel sender. I had a professional fit the seat cover on the bench using original OEM style color seat cover for the truck. I replaced the original rubber floor mat with an original style mat. The original horn works great! The steering wheel is nice and has some cracking in it. I replaced the door panels and headliner with an OEM style version. The rubber was replaced too around the inside of the door opening. The original cardboard glovebox is still intact. The windshield wipers and arms were replaced with OEM style versions. The wipers do not work though. They need to be wired. The pickup is a very nice original pickup that looks and drives amazing. The brakes stops on a dime and more firm than any other old truck I own. The truck is 61 years old and is not perfect. It has character and that is what makes it special. The paint is old and weathered! I can store the pickup for up to one month and after that, a $50 a month fee will be added to the trucks final sale price.
