Vehicle Detail
1967 Dodge Truck This is a 1967 Dodge D-500, 2 ton, Heavy Duty 318-2 V-8 engine (cylinders were a little bigger in the Heavy Duty model), Eaton Model 13802. Mileage meter reads 8,429 miles, so guessing that’s on second round. On both the doors it says this truck weighs about 9,400 pounds and rated at 26,000 gross weight when loaded. This truck has a 14 ft. steel grain box that is in good condition and there is a tow hitch on the back. Tires are fairly good to good. This truck was in use up until about 6-7 years ago when my Dad had some shingling done on the lower level of his house and a little later hauled out to his garbage pit. After that it sat most of the time. As you can see in the pictures, this truck is a fix-it upper. A new $120 battery was put in it last fall 2012 and anti-freeze was added to take ND winter weather. My handyman nephew did a little work on it this fall 2013. He put in a new carb kit, new fuel pump, and new spark plugs. However, that is as far as the budget will go here for repair work on it this year. Headlamps work. There may or may not be other issues, but the following are the ones we are aware of. It needs to be hauled, or towed (if not too far) to its new home, as the brakes do not work, adding brake fluid does not get them working. Also, we can hear a leak in the manifold, listen to the video below for that, plan on updating the exhaust system. The two saddle tanks are not hooked up and may leak we did not put gas in to test them, the cab gas tank is in use and the only tank hooked up to the fuel pump at present. The cab seat needs new pad and cover. Also in the video below, you can see the hoist lifts and this Dodge is drivable both forward and reverse. This truck can also use a good pressure wash, Dad did not have a pressure washer on the farm. As you can see in the pictures, this truck needs restore work if one wants to bring it back to its full glory, usefulness, and make it road worthy. Please look at pictures to see condition. Measurements: The truck is about 23’ 4” long, with about a 128” wheel base (center of front hub to center of rear hub). Height from ground to top of box is about 7’ 6”. The 14’ box is about 7’ 10” wide, and there is a rebar foot rail that makes the total box width about 8’ 2”. What makes this truck rare and collectable, is it still has the AGSCO green and yellow paint on it. When these trucks were sold, most new owners repainted them, so they are hard to find with the AGSCO paint still on them. AGSCO was a very popular agricultural product company in the Midwest part of United States during the 50’s through 80’s. They are still in business today, based out of Grand Forks, ND, but under a different name. They sold seed, farm chemicals like DB-Green, fertilizer, and farm buildings. You can search eBay current or completed auctions for “AGSCO”, to see some AGSCO memorabilia. Sometimes even decals like the ones on this truck have been sold on eBay. Many farmers, who have been in business more than 20 years in the Midwest, will remember this company. If you are handy under the hood and with doing some body work, this truck could be a fun restore project to parade history with, if restored to its full AGSCO glory. But the size of this truck is just dandy for a hobby farm, stockman, or horse ranch who could use a smaller truck to handle feed and seed. This truck is offered “As Is” as a fix-it upper. It comes with a clear title, and needs fix-it TLC, a new home, and purpose again. Truck storage location is about 21 miles SW of Jamestown, ND, about 11 miles on pavement south of I-94, appointment needed to be pickup by shipper, we will pay uninsured indoor storage for the winning bidder to Nov. 30th. Be sure to view the video and larger pictures following below, and thanks for looking!
