1954 CHEVROLET 5 WINDOW TRUCK Over 100 high quality images under description Up for auction is this bad ass 1954 five window Chevrolet truck! This pickup just has the right look, the patina paint job, the stance, the interior etc are all in order to make it absolute eye candy. These 50's Chevys have become extremely desirable and with this engine combination they don't come much better. The big block rocks in this thing and is a tribute to the beach boys song "giddy up 409" - "she's so fine my 4 oh 9!!" Don't let the patina fool you, there is not a single flake of rust or bondo anywhere on this vehicle, the complete bed has just been replaced and shot in a high gloss black. A lot of work went into this custom tilt front end, it's all metal and looks awesome at car shows! The cab is in the same excellent condition, side vents and door handles were shaved to give it a super clean look, I encourage the buyer to bring along a fridge magnet, it will stick strong to any panel. The wood in the bed is new and finished in a high gloss, waterproof bar top finish, the gas tank is mounted underneath with a new chrome filler neck. The patina paint job has been airbrushed to perfection over a flat brown and the whole lot finished with some pin striping, lettering, a new visor and a new bumper. The 409 is very healthy and arguably the most iconic motor Chevy has produced, the block number is 3844422 and was originally in a 64 impala ss. It still has it's original optioned sand cast Offenhauser valve covers that have just had a full polish, I have photos of the casting number stamped inside. It has an edelbrock 4bbl, new cleaner and new oil and filters. Pipes run to a pair of cherry bomb mufflers that make this thing sound mean as. Behind it is a newly rebuilt 700r4 with overdrive lockup and a 2 year warranty, it is awesome to drive! Quietening right up on long cruises but when you give it some boot it takes off and eats its own tires! Brand new drive shaft with 1 year warranty to an unbreakable ford 9". All in all an extremely solid, expensive and well put together driveline giving the truck amazing drivability and fun factor. It has a jaguar front end with independent suspension, massive ventilated discs with twin piston calipers and a brand new rebuilt rack and pinion with 1 year warranty. The rear is sitting on lowering blocks and newish shocks, if you want to know how a truck should handle this is a benchmark. It's also rolling on brand new radial white walls. The inside is all brand new and reupholstered, it has plenty of fatmat, heat proofing and insulation throughout. With the windows up it's quiet and a nice place to be on a long haul. It has modern, 6-way electric leather seats that are super comfortable! The dash was shaved of its stereo and a new kenwood head unit is in the glove box with an under dash antenna - lots of features, CD/AUX for iPod or phone/radio etc. Speakers are a pair of alpine type R 6x9s which are the best money can buy, mounted in enclosures in the corners of the cab you have one of the best sounding stereos you can get. It has a Cadillac steering column with tilt and telescopic, column shift has been adapted with a Lokar shifter kit with kick down. All of the glass and seals were recently replaced, door handles, door poppers, security system, an electric window system and autometer gauges were installed as well. This pick up offers a totally unique look that everybody digs, everywhere it goes people are taking photos, wanting to see under the hood, giving thumbs up and telling you it's flat out cool.
