Looks like I have too many projects according to my family so I am selling my pride and joy. A 1976 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. I looked for almost 10 years to find one like this. All original with the 2F motor and one that hadn't been lifted or chopped up. Basically a stock FJ40 that I could restore. The owner before me had this vehicle for 15 years and was a toyota fanatic! Anytime a part was needed he only replaced it with a Toyota OEM part, even if it had to come from Africa or Australia! I have tried to do the same in the parts I have added. I only run Mobile 1 oil and have the local off road shop which services ALOT of FJ's in the area take care of it. The mechanic I had check it out originally before I purchased it said it was the strongest running FJ they had ever had in their shop. It runs like a top and turns over 1st time. Pretty awesome for an original 2F engine. FJ friends of mine tell me that with proper maintenance there is no telling how long it will go! Have not installed. Will include themNew 4 wheel shifter boot This vehicle has very little rust and with a paint job and a little bit of work, it would be a solid FJ for years to come. I have checked several places in the country and have found that Classic Cruisers in Salida, CO can get me an original (used) set of doors and a top in great condition, no dents, all the glass, etc for about $1500.00
