Vehicle Detail
I hate to sell this awesome 1932 Dodge Brothers DL6, but my wife is in the Army and we recently moved up to Alaska. I have not been able to spend near the amount of time working on this car a I would like. I currently have the car in storage at my father's place but he doesn't really have the room, I don't really want to pay storage for three or more years, and to be honest, I hate to see vehicles sit and not get used. I'm a believer in driving and enjoying your vehicles. I bought the car a little over a year ago. The Dodge came from New York originally. The original owner supposedly used it on Sundays. I'm the 4th owner. It has just under 34K miles. Previous owner replaced the glass, tires, had a new fuel tank built to original spec, rebuilt the water pump, put on new hoses, rebuilt the brakes, new rubber brake lines, maybe a couple other things I haven't noticed. I'm not sure, but the engine could have been rebuilt as it has good compression and runs great! First thing I did was put a new 6v battery in it. Then I drained out the gear oil in the rear diff. and the transmission, as well as the engine oil, and replaced them with fresh lube. Then I rebuilt the fuel pump, rebuilt the carb, re-rebuilt the brake master cylinder (it still had the honing marks from the last time it was rebuilt), my father just re-rebuilt the wheel cylinders, so it stops now. I replaced the points, rotor, cap, wires and plugs all with OEM style replacements. I recently cleaned the fuel tank (I took it to a radiator shop to have it cleaned, it came back still dirty and painted black, so I finished cleaning it, and painted it Eastwood's gas tank silver). I put a temporary fuel filter in-line before the fuel pump to make sure nothing got into the carb (that can easily be put back to original config). The fuel sending unit does not work. The unit itself moves freely, so I suspect its an electrical connection, possibly within the unit. 1932 was the first year for the Ram radiator mascot. The car didn't come with one when I bought it, so I picked one up... it turns out the one I bought, and subsequently rebuilt, was a '33 mascot. I was able to source the correct '32 Ram mascot, that comes with the car along with the parts to rebuild it. The Dodge currently has a working temporary cap on it now. The Dodge starts up every time, and once it's warmed up, it just purrs like a sewing machine! I don't want to make any incorrect statements here, but I have not found any rust on the car other than some surface rust like what you see on the grill shell and fenders... The paint will polish pretty well if desired. I'm pretty certain some of the black on the fenders will polish back if desired. The interior is what I'd say as "better than what you could expect for over 80 years old". No rips in the seats, headliner intact, curtains are there and intact, the door panels are intact except for where your foot rubs when getting in and out of the driver's side (still intact, just pulled away from the panel). The pictures I attached of the seats are before I cleaned the interior..... I'm sure there's more to tell, but I can't remember what, and I can't walk around it..... The car runs, drives, and stops great. Other tid-bits: I did pick up a spare hub cap for it. The previous owner kept a lot of the little parts he replaced, so for whatever reason, so did I. The car is missing the two rear bumper over-riders (they match the front). And the only other things I know it's missing are three interior grab handle trim rings. But I did have those cast in bronze, so the new ones still need to be cleaned up, chromed, and new grab handles made for them. I also have an original Factory Brochure for the 1932 Dodge line up, that goes with the car. Dodge has the power assisted clutch, which was originally a $10 option. I do have more pictures I can email, and I can have my father take some specific pictures if needed. The Title is a clear Kansas Title. It's in my name. It's signed. It's with the car. And since Kansas is a Non-notary state, it just needs your signature and it's ready to go. For questions, call Kyle at: seven eight five 7600397 (Alaska time zone is 3 hours behind Central time). To set up an appointment to see the vehicle, or make shipping arrangements, call my father Alan, at: seven eight five 5946648. Thank you.
