Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Beautifully restored 1971 Volkswagon Karmann Ghia. According to paperwork from the previous owner, I am the third owner of this car (all receipts will be included). The man I bought it from totally restored this classic beauty in 1988, (he didn’t drive it much – he told us after restoring it was mostly kept in storage) and I bought it in 1994. It became my everyday driver for 7 years, very dependable. Then I had it repainted in 2002, (after some body work, the nose got slightly dented) and it has been babied in our garage ever since (started regularly). Straight, true body, no dings, dents, or damage. Painted fire engine red, it has a custom grey and white checkerboard upholstery. I have what looks to be all the receipts from the restoration, (the car is originally from Arizona), as well as the transfer of title in 1977 when the man I bought it from purchased it. The engine was also replaced in 1988. Current odometer reading 16118. It has a CD player installed in the dash with speakers in the back window. It is about 90+% restored right now, as it has a couple of cosmetic issues that need to be addressed. The upholstery in the back window has faded some, the dash needs a piece of molding for the bottom, and there is a tiny hole in the driver’s side upholstery (smaller than a pencil eraser). Some of the piping (about an inch long) has worn on the side from getting in and out of the driver’s seat. There is a small ding in the back bumper. The emergency brake needs to be hooked into the cylinder again. Other than these things, everything else works great – windows, gauges, heat, wipers. I could not find any rust anywhere, except a small amount at the base of the battery compartment, and the floor pans appear to be in great shape. We are including pictures of all of these small imperfections. We took pictures of everything possible, even the inside of the nose in the trunk – they didn’t have to replace any parts, the impact was minor and they were able to push it back out. Overall, this car runs great, no major issues. Just cosmetic improvements to be made. SOLD AS IS – NO WARRANTY BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL TRANSPORTATION COSTS
