Up for auction is a 40 hour original owner Maico 250 Spider. Upon coming to Motoworx, we added a few things to get it race ready for the Evo class. We completely went through the bike from front to back. Front forks were taken apart and cleaned, seals and wipers replaced with NOS parts. Rear Ohlins shock was completely serviced and seal head replaced with newer style "quad ring". New Bridgestone motocross tires and tubes, Pro Taper fatbar conversion on stock triple clamps, Pro Taper levers on both brake and clutch, Original gunnar gasser throttle. NEW Maico Only parts include: Billet front brake actuator arm, billet rear brake lever, new front and rear sprockets, airbox to carb boot, intake manifold, air filter, oversized footpegs and renthal chain. All of the original parts come with the bike as well. Every part is in near perfect condition. It also has the factory spares kit with most everything in it including new replacement piston ring, brake pads front and rear, assorted gaskets and additional sprocket set. The factory manual has stayed with the bike as well. All the original red cables and red covers for stock magura levers and perches, Magura Duo throttle too! This bike is ready to ride!!!! The handle bars that were on it in the "spare parts package" are Inter am tall bars which are straight and in great shape.......We also kept the original Metzlers and have 0 weather checking on them that goes in the sale if wanted. So the bottom line is it runs fantastic!!! Very, Very fast for a 1983 bike! In fact they say it's the fastest 250 motocrosser Maico built. The top end was not pulled off although a compression test and leakdown test was done on the bike. It was at the high end of the factory spec. The clutch cover was pulled, plates inspected and trans flushed with Maxima MTL 80. All is good there too and the bike shifts like it should and does not pop out of gear or anything that it shouldn't do! This being said the winning bidder is buying a 30 year old bike and there is no warranty on this purchase.
