THE EXTERIOR SHOWS OFF THE FAMILAR STAINLESS STEAL SIDE "TICK" BUT ALSO BORROWD STYLING CLUES FROM BOTHT THE THUNDERBIRD AND CROWN VICKY. OTHER ACCOUTEMENTS INCLUDED A TORNEAU COVER IN THE CARGO AREA, FENDER SKIRTS, THE OVERHEAD VALVE 292 CID THUNDERBIRD V-8 WITH A FOUR BARRELL CARB STANDARD UNDER THE HOOD. IT ALL ADDED UP TO A PRETTY GOOD ATTRACTIVE PACKAGE, THE FACT THAT THE PARKLANE WAS A ( ONE YEAR ONLY) WONDER CERTAINLY ADDS TO ITS APPEALAS A COLLECTOR CAR TODAY HOWEVER, THESE DAYS AS IN 56, THE NOMADS ARE MORE POPULAR, BUT THE PARKLANES ARE HARDER TO COME BY. THE OWNERSHIP HISTORY OF THIS FORD PARKLANE IS AS FOLLOWS. THE CAR WAS MANURFACTORED IN SAN JOSE CALIFORNIA AND BOUGHT NEW IN SAN JOSE. THE GENTLEMAN WAS A AIR FORCE PILOT STATIONED IN SAN JOSE, HE THEN WAS TRANSFERED TO NEW MEXICO AND THEN TO LAKELAND FLORIDA. THE AIR FORCE BASE PASS IS STILL ON THE FRONT BUMPER. THE CAR WAS PUT INTO STORAGE IN 1981, STILL HAS FLORDIA INSPECTION STICKER ON WINDSHIELD. I KNOW ALL OF THIS INFORMATION , BECAUSE I BOUTH THIS CAR FROM THE AIR FORCE PILOT. I HAVE COPIES OF ALL THE REGISTRATIONS SHOWING WHERE THE CAR HAS BEEN ALL ITS LIFE. ALWAYS IN A WARM CLIMATE, NO SALTY ROADS. WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2005, I DRAINED ALL THE FLUIDS AND REPLACED WITH NEW FLUIDS. REPLACED COMPLETE BRAKE SYSTEM, INCLUDING MOST STEAL LINES, REBUILT CARBURATOR, REMOVED FUEL TANK, FLUSHED OUT AND NEW LINER PUT IN.TUNE UP ON MOTOR AND NEW BATTERY. REGISTERED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT AS OFFEN AS I HAD TIME, IT WAS THE THUMBS UP EVERY TIME I HAD IT ON THE ROAD. THEN THE RESTORATION STARTED, THEN THE ECONOMY SLOWED DOWN AND SO DID THE RESTORATION. AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE CURRENT CONDITION THIS IS WHERE IT IS TODAY. MOST OF THE STAINLESS STEAL AND CHROME IS OFF THE CAR, BUT ALL PARTS ARE THERE. 99.5 % ORIGINAL WHEN TAKEN APART, ALL OF THE VALUABLE PARKLANE PARTS ARE THERE. THERE ARE EXTRA PARTS INCLUDED, SUCH AS TAILGATE AND STAINLESS TRIM. ALL PARTS ARE BAGGED AND TAGGED IN A CRATE THAT WAS SPECIALY BUILT FOR THERE PROCTECTION. I HAVE ORIGINAL SALES LITERATURE, HAND BOOK, WORKSHOP MANUAL, WIRING BOOK AND MANY ARTICLES ABOUT THE PARKLANE. THIS IS A TRUE R CODE CALIFORNIA CAR. THIS IS THE BEST COLOR COMBINATION BURMUDA BLUE AND DIAMOND BLUE. THE CAR NEEDS RESTORATION TO BE COMPLETED, PAINT, INTERIOR AND REASSEMBLY.TIRES, WITH A NEW BATTERY THE ENGINE WILL FIRE RIGHT UP AND DRIVE, BUT SHOULD BE GONE THROUGH BEFORE PUTTING IT ON THE ROAD.
