He said it is through the metal and should be repaired/patched/painted. He remembers some rust in the front trunk, too, but said it was inconsequential. He said there is some rust on the battery tray, too. And he remembers seeing a small section of surface rust under the car when it was on a lift. He said it would need to be cleaned up and re-sprayed with undercoating is all.
