0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false 1981 Honda Civic Hatchback for sale. This is the same car that Sookie Stackhouse drives in True Blood, and the same car Bruce Willis crashes in Pulp Fiction! I am reluctantly selling my 1981 Blue Honda Civic Hatch. It is a real gem of a car. It isn’t in mint condition, and does have small dings here and there, but overall is in great condition for a car of over 30 years. It has been my daily driver for about 4 years now, and has been garaged ever since I have owned it. I have lined it up next to a mini cooper and they are about the exact same size (to give you an idea of how small it is). You can park this car ANYWHERE. I have never owned a car that was so parallel parkable. It also holds a ton of cargo for a car so small. The hatchback is pretty much the ideal car for the city. You can hold a lot of stuff, but still park it anywhere. The car is pretty much all original paint, etc. The only visible change I have made is I put in a new stereo system. It has 4 speakers and a CD player/AM/FM radio with an iPod connector. You can control your iPod/iphone through the stereo itself. I have done a lot of work to this car. I have replaced many things making it a very reliable car for me. It runs great around the city, but I have taken it on the highway plenty of times and it does 65 easy. I have gotten it up to around 75 before as well. Here are some of the details of the work I have done within the last few years: New rebuilt transmission Rebuilt carbs New Fuel Pump New fuel filter New alternator New rear brakes Pioneer DEH2100IB SCD Receiver with iPod control 4 speaker sound system Timing belt done New air filter New alternator belt New voltage regulator New battery New engine seal New muffler New tires New windshield wipers Tuneup, new plugs, etc. Oil changed every 2500-3000 miles TERMS OF SALE1) Vehicle Representation: Although I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability, it is still possible that I may have unintentionally made an error or left some information out. This is the copied response from the owner before me: "I found it at a local recycler & it was just running rough from sitting. So the people sold it to the wrecking yard. We went through & tuned it up & replaced the timing belt while we were at it. I was going to keep it, but need some cash for a balloon payment that is coming up & figured someone will love it! =) Thanks again, Randy" Sorry I don't know more about it other than that. Like I said in the description, I have owned it for about 4 years, so It has been my main vehicle up until I bought a new car about a year ago. I mainly would drive it for groceries, etc. but at least 4 times a year I would drive from New York to Maryland, so it definitely can hold up over long journeys. I have had a few mechanical issues with it over the years. The biggest was that the transmission broke, and I found another one and had the whole thing rebuilt (which was expensive) I have had the carbs rebuilt, and a lot of other big ticket things done to the car. The worst thing I can say about it is that there are some scratches on the hood, and that it is a little smokey when it first starts up. If you have any more questions feel free to message me again. Thanks, Josh - sekonic69 On Jul-31-13 at 05:45:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Dear lonis2010,Dear sekonic69,Any rust what so ever?Yes, but it is minimal. the only rust on the car is at places where the paint has been nicked off or scratched. There really isn't any other rust on the car--i have a feeling that it was garaged over the years. I garaged it here in New York and didn't drive it in the salty/snow weather too much so it doesn't have much rust on itSurface?just small surface rust where there are scratches in paintbubbles?there is one small section about 2-3 inches in the back that has minimal bubbles, but I can't find anything elserot/spongy metal? No. Nothing spongy . no rotholes?no holesfloor boards solid?very solid, really good conditionBody mounts solid?yes, solid. really just some surface rust. nothing structural There is still some proof of the 'damage' from an accident. By the tail pipe. Looks like the rear pass fender, bumper and maybe even hatch were replaced. That damage was there when I bought the car so I can only assume, but I think someone backed into a curb or something, it doesn't look like an accident, and no i don't think the fenders, bumpers, etc were replaced. it all looks original with no welds. I think this is a minor parking accident you see.Any welded spots under the pass fender...body parts welded on?no, not that i can tell.- sekonic69
