Up for auction is a 1964 Volkswagen Sand Rail / Dune Buggy! This vehicle is street legal with clear California Title. Custom modified in 1981, the frame mounts fit smartly to the stock bolt location of the original body. The front and rear tubing sections are removable for ease of working on the front suspension or the engine. The interior consists primarily of two bucket seats and a smaller wooden rear wooden bench is a lockable storage compartment. The dashboard was custom made and houses the instrument cluster in the center of the dash.The frame and engine in this working order often sells on Ebay for over $2500. With Title and improvements,this is an excellent deal to get an on road / off road 64 Classic Modified Beetle. This VW starts up and runs fine. The gasoline was drained twice and fresh fuel and filter was installed. It start right up and idles. The VW shifts through its gears nicely. The odometer works as it should. The tires are so/so and I would upgrade for either off road or highway, depending upon your use. I have driven it from Reno to Lake Tahoe and back and few times to test it and it handled very well. This vehicle was donated. In addition, there are working headlights, taillights, and turn signals. There is a custom sun top and snaps. Much of the exterior also is covered by removable thick plastic covering snaps. Some of the pieces are in fine condition, while others need to be replaced or are not in my position. The coverings fit neatly inside of the tool box in the rear of the vehicle. This volkswagon custom buggy is ready to go and fun to drive. Best of all, its great on gas.
