This 323 feels powerful with its 2.5-liter DOHC inline 6 cylinder engine capable of 168 horsepower and an impressive average of 21 Mpg City and 31 Mpg Hwy .Squeeze down on the gaz pedal and you're rewarded with smooth and quick throttle response that's very satisfying when accelerating onto a freeway. Stomp on it at any speed and the five (5) speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and truly brings this German power-plant to life. The overall condition of the exterior of this vehicle is Fantastic! The paint has a deep sparkling shine and the body is straight with nearly no dents. As you will see in the pictures the only minor cosmetic issue to mention is some light sun damage at the top of the rear bumper. The 4 matching Cooper tires have 80% of tread left all around. Overall the interior looks nice. The front seats have no rips or tears and seems to have already been reupholstered. The rear seat shows signs of wear and tear. The door panels also have some wear and would probably need a respray or probably be replaced. The plastic window of the convertible top is foggy. As far as the electronics the power windows, power door locks and power automatic convertible work as they should. The convertible top functions as it should going up and down quickly at just the touch of a button! The A/C blows Ice cold but the climate control display works at random. The air bag light is on due to a faulty module sensor which you can find a replacement on eBay for around $35.00 Mechanically this car is in excellent condition!! When we acquired this BMW we took it to a local European specialist shop for a mechanical and safety inspection. We have driven this vehicle close to 75 miles and can tell you that the engine runs strong, the transmission shifts smoothly and it drives great! It handles tight and has plenty of power throughout the gears at surface street speeds and on up to 79mph highway speeds.
