Vehicle Detail
1940 Dodge 2 Door Business Coupe, Stock, Running and Driving Here we have for sale a stock 1940 Dodge 2 door business coupe. This is a nice old resto coupe that still looks and good as it drives. The car is in great condition for its age. The car was painted and restored 20+ years ago. It spent all of its time right here in the great city of Reno. It was bought brand new in Reno. The Dodge is the cool looking 2 door business coupe style. It has tremendous room in it. There is only a front bench seat in a business coupe. The trunk is where the considerable room is. That thing is huge and can carry a ton. The car was painted 20+ years ago. It looks great as a quality driver, not a show car. The paint has some minor blemishes here and there, like chips and scratches. There are a few minor dings in the body and fenders. The grille and headlight bezels are patina'd chrome. They are complete and not dinged or dented or missing anything. The original chrome bumpers are patina'd too. The tires are old vulcanized whitewalls. They are Bridgestone dueller radials that had whitewalls vulcanized on the side of them. Real neat thing the car had done to it so many year ago. The tires are still in great shape with just minor little cracks in them. I have been driving on them, freeway driving, etc with no issues. The running boards are all original rubber and still look good but are cracked. There are three cracked windows on the car, however, I have the original rear window and side quarter windows that have no cracks or chips in them. I have the original window rubber for them too. I love the bb gun shot up driver window. This car has always been in private hands and not left out so who knows the story with the shot up window. The running gear is all stock and original to the car. The original 218ci straight 6 was rebuilt about 20 years ago when the whole car was gone through. It still has big oil pressure numbers, 30-35lbs. The original radiator was replaced with a high dollar all aluminum one. It runs nice all summer long! The stock column shift transmission shifts perfect and goes into all gears nicely. The front and rear suspension are all stock and original to the car. The hydrolic brakes stop strong and hard for your saftey. The interior is nice for its old age. The seats have a little wear on them. The carpet is nice and throughout the interior but the it does have a few little strains in the floorboard area. Take a look at the amazing professionally done woodgraining that was done on the dash and garnish mouldings. The make the whole interior of the car. Even the original, stock AM radio works. There is even the original radio tuning tool in the glovebox that was original sold with the car in 1940. It is amazing that its still there. The original steering wheel is nice with minor cracks. The gauges all work. The fuel gauge can be a little tempermental sometimes. It sticks sometimes. The speedometer is funny because it looks like its floating there when your driving down the road. You will understand what I mean if you drive the car. The original bakelite column and dash knobs are cracked. The knobs are in pretty bad shape. The glove box door is woodgrained but is missing the button. The headliner is in nice shape and not ripped or torn in any way. The interior dome light is stock and original, it works too! The horn works! The car is still the stock 6v electrical and start up quicker then any other 6v car I have ever owned. Pretty cool. The trunk is just bare, nothing in it but the floorboard and the spare tire. There is minor rust on the inside of the fenders and a few tiny spots on the passenger floorboard. The windshield wipers are missing. Overall this is a real nice old car that has great style. The look of the coupe is very nostalgic and is a head turner everywhere you go. This car is not perfect but its a nice clean old restoration car that somebody can jump in and go anywhere. Its a reliable car that cruises down the highway at 65mph with ease. I have a clear title with the car. I will include 2 old dealer advertisement posters that I will include in the sale. I will store the car for 1 month for free before I will charge a $75 a month charge at my house. I will assist with coordinating shipping as much as I can. As we all know, that the buyers responsibility to schedule. Try Uship or other auto transporters online.
