Vehicle Detail
A Ferrari 308 Quattrovalvole Spider with just 19,000 miles! Rare Grigio (similar to the color “Titanium” Ferrari offers today) over Bordeaux leather interior.Featuring two sets of wheels, including 18” Ferrari wheels with new tires, a fresh timing belt service, a new Alpine Stereo system and a beautifully restored interior with new glove-soft leather seats with black piping. New premium grade carpet of a higher quality than the original material has also been installed. The rear shelf, trim and roof panel has also been restored to better than new as the original material is something resembling burlap has been replaced by matching red and black premium materials making for a stunning interior. This interior is simply spectacular and makes one feel like they are sitting in a far newer car. Compare this interior with any other 308/328 out there and you’ll see the difference. Two sets of wheels and tires are included. As shown in one of the photos, a set of specially prepared 18” Ferrari wheels with new 225/18” tires up front and 255/18” at a substantial cost. You won’t find very many 308/328s with Ferrari factory 18” wheels fitted to them. The Ferrari handles, rides and brakes better as well as looks classic yet contemporary at the same time. This is a very nice car and a super rare opportunity to acquire a classic and appreciating Ferrari with just 19k miles. The CARFAX report I received shows no issues with the car. Ebay's Autocheck rates this car way above the top average! A new and modern Alpine stereo system has just been installed, including new speakers. A timing belt service is scheduled for this week so the Ferrari will have all new belts, including timing belts. This is a very nice Ferrari with super low miles. With the car that immediately preceded this Ferrari, the 246 Dino, now commanding $300k and up, the 308 is an exceptional investment in true rolling sculpture. It was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti who is responsible for some of Ferrari's most celebrated shapes such as the Daytona, the Dino and the Berlinetta Boxer. The 308QVGTSiis truly a classic, and as there were only 3,042 produced for the entire world market. As noted by author Beki Adam: “Pininfarina had relished the job, and excelled themselves: The look remains timeless, even today. The mix between the original Dino styling (those side-scoops and the recessed rear concave window)and the 365 GT4Berlinetta Boxer (that spliced from bumper to tail bodywork, that wonderful nose and equally delightful rear-end with its sail panels extending from the roofline down to the whisper of a spoiler) was styling perfection. The lines are faultless.” Germany’s Auto Motor Und Sport called it “bellamacchina”. England’s Car Magazine called it “poetry in motion” and “the doyen of exotic car shapes.” Forza Magazine noted: “the four valves were easily the best performers of the 308 series, noting Road and Track’s test of 308QV, Corvette and two Porsche’s ‘Ferrari fixed the criticism that its 3.0 V8 did not produce quite enough horsepower to match the car’s racy good looks.” England’s Motor Car magazine clocked a 308QV’s 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds! Forza tested a 308 QV and noted: “What was most impressive about the 308s was their reliability. When we tested the two Ferraris, Northern California was in the midst of a heat wave with temperatures in the triple digits. Not once did either car hiccup, overheat, or act temperamental in any way. They simply shrugged off the 100 degree heat as easily as they would your favorite twisty road. In short, these are Ferraris that you can truly use every day.” In the same Forza article, noted Ferrari expert Tom Shaughnessy noted: “A good 308, when properly serviced, will easily last 100,000 miles or more.” Shaughnessy also noted that parts for the 308 are affordable. He went on to state of the 308: “It is the only Ferrari I would recommend as a daily driver. The V8 engine is virtually indestructible and the model line has been around for a decade. This is Ferrari’s utility car.” Vehicle is sold in "As Is" condition. Successful high bidder must submit a $500 deposit within 48 hours and pay the balance within 7 days.
