Vehicle Detail

This was a restoration project until somebody lost the motor and seats. Now it can be whatever you want it to be. I kind of envision a V6 with an automatic transmission rewired for today's electronics. The body is solid... You can hear it when you open and close the doors, hood and trunk. Structurally it is all there including the chrome trim pieces. I even have the door panels and dashboard but they are not in good enough condition to re-use however they would give you a template for fabrication. This is a blank canvas waiting for an artist... It could be a really cool car and I would do it if I had the time and the means. The car is "as is, where is" and the buyer is responsible for picking it up from DeLand, Florida. I prefer cash but if you pay by check it must clear before I hand over the title and let you load it up. In addition, since first listing this car, I feel I need to point out that the car was ready to go to paint a year ago. There is light surface rust after sitting under a tarp in a construction yard for the past 12 months. A death in family halted the restoration. The engine and seats were in a con-ex box that was sold off when the business was sold. This car was being restored to original condition. The body work was complete and the engine compartment has already been painted. You can bid on it for parts, but seriously this is a solid car in need of a motor, some seats and a convertible top.On Jul-26-13 at 07:35:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional info: The transmission is not there either but if you're putting in a different engine...Also, when asked if I had the dashboard I answered yes because I have the padded top of the dashboard. I hadn't noticed that the speedometer, gauges and glove box were missing (you guys are sharper than me!). I have what I think is the glove box but it is plastic and I'm not sure if they used plastic for that in 1961. I have the radio, the chrome trim around the radio, and the heater core. I also found three pieces of exterior chrome trim saying "American", and one piece that says custom. I have the generator(alternator?), the power steering pump, and (for all the good it will do) the dip stick & sheath and fuel pump with filter. Finally, I have hope that the additional dashboard components are in a box in another garage. All the other trim and loose parts were there and it is possible I missed a box. I will go look and update that info when I know more. It seems to me that stuff would have been kept together and not with the engine. Thanks for all the interest!
