This may have been in fact due to Kevin Erion being an instructor for CLASS Motorcycle Schools and winning the Pro-Twins Modified in 1989 with a Hawk inspired Greg to bigger and better things. What ever the case, Greg decided to go racing with the Hawk and prepped it by removing the rear foot pegs, safety wiring what was required and installing a FOX Shock out back. By the end of the 1990 Racing Season Greg was seriously hooked and moved on to a 1991 Suzuki RSV250. He rolled the Hawk into the shop and continued on. A local party offered to buy the Hawk, but Greg turned him down figuring the bike had sentimental value to him and he would eventually restore it for display in his office at work. Fast forward 22 years later. The Hawk has not been touched except to be rolled around and finally parked behind the shop under an awning which is where we found it just recently. The bike is complete, the tank is not dented, the FOX Shock still in place, but the bike is no longer in pristine condition as it once was. It has not been started for a long time and the fuel smells terrible. The drive chain looks rusty, the tires pretty lumpy. The bike is all there but it needs a total going through, sad but true. Ebay did not allow me to put other when it reffered to the title category, but it is “other” as I do not have a title in hand at this time. Greg had a California title to the bike but it has taken a powder and has gone missing. We have a copy of the registration for the bike, but again no title. An Oregon title can be generated for it for a cost of about $90, but that is title only, not registration or plates unless you live in our fair state. So we are very clear. I have not tried to turn it over. It does not start. The brakes are dragging, the chain is rusty. This is a project. You are not going to pour gas in the tank and make it run (unless you are incredibly lucky). It needs tender loving hands laid upon it.
