Vehicle Detail
Originally from Topeka Kansas = No Rust Extremely low miles. These are getting harder and harder to find, especially in this condition. I bought it a year ago from the original owner (retired person) who put less than 4,000 miles per year on it. No cracks on dashpad, interior is not faded, leather is not cracked, original woody panels are not faded, original headliner looks great and it's not sagging anywhere...so it must have sat idle for most of its life inside a dry garage or under a carport. Well Maintained. EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD, including the Remote Start! Needs nothing, No rust anywhere on the body, no rust anywhere underneath, not even on the usual spare tire area or above taillights; it is very solid. Drive it across country with confidence. The steering is very tight. I have had it up to 100MPH and it drives smooth, no shakes or rattles. No oil drips in driveway or garage floor, but bottom of oil pan is greasy; must have a slow front seal seepage; but again no oil, or coolant leaks. Seems to be original paint, still very glossy. Has the usual clear coat peeling on trim moldings, but NONE of the trim or black rubber moldings are missing. This wagon has No dents, just a few door dings and a couple small scratches. According to history report, it was involved in an accident about 4-5 years ago, but I can't tell where the damage was. Brand new double-din head unit; music and dvd player, with 7in. touch screen, Navigation, blue-tooth, 16 gig expandable hard-drive, rear-view camera which automatically turns on when gear selector is shifted into reverse, etc...etc...etc. Recent services performed all within 3 months: 1) New tires 2) Brand new starter 3) Brand new heavy duty Interstate battery 4) New platinum spark plugs, heavy duty Bosch plug wires, new distributor cap and rotor. 5) New front brake pads installed, front rotors resurfaced, rear shoes adjusted. Fresh oil change with Mobil-1 full synthetic last week. 6) Brand new rear air shocks and air lines, automatic suspension works great. Brand new front Bilstein shock absorbers too. 7) Flushed radiator and replaced thermostat. 8) I took it to a local transmission shop to do a trans fluid flush and filter change since the wagon is over 17 years old, but the tech refused to do it...he said it was still very clean and fluid was nice and red. Wow, an honest mechanic. When I first found this '96 wagon over a year ago, although I was not crazy about the color, I purchased it because of the low miles and nice overall exterior and interior condition. So I did all the above work because I had planned on keeping it forever since my kids fell in love with the rear-facing seats when I first introduced them to the idea. But then recently I found a 1994 wagon in Washington (closest wagon in the first picture) with even lower miles (35k) but that had sat most of it's life outside, so the woodgrain panels and paint are faded and it has a dent in one of the rear quarter panels (parking lot dent), but it also has NO rust, and the interior is also in very good shape, as in the 1996. I know...I know...1994 is not the sought-after collector's edition, but that is of no concern to me, I just want a low mileage wagon in great condition that is OTHER than white, and the 1994 seems like the perfect choice for customizing. Now I get to choose my own custom pain scheme. And I have the OK from the Mrs. to remove the woodgrain panels and paint it a custom or two-tone color and remove all the chrome trim, put some 20's chrome wheels with fat tires, etc, etc. So, the '96 Collector's Edition is now for sale. If anybody has any questions or any requests for pictures of a specific area, just ask and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can. more pictures coming soon. thanks for looking.
