MEYERS MANX DUNE BUGGYVERIFIED AND AUTHENTICATED MANX 1This Dune Buggy is the Real Deal, The original body tag is on it, number M3133F915E along with the verification number 106. There are less than 140 authenticated Manx's of every body type. Manx 1's, Manx 2's and Tow'd's. This is the one everybody talks about and wants. Paint is brand new Metal Flake and painted the original color. The body tag from B.F. MEYERS reads code 15E which is Royal Blue Metal Flake that was bought from House of Color and it also had a dark blue applied as a base-coat, just like it was originally manufactured. Paint was wet sanded, buffed and polished to mirror perfection. This is one of the straightest body's you will find. Restored professionally. Just completed. Everything that could be unbolted and removed was. Every part on this buggy was replaced, repaired, rebuilt, cleaned, sanded and/or media blasted and painted. Attention to every detail was made to make this dune buggy look, drive and feel like it is brand new. There are absolutely no squeaks or rattles. It rides straight and true and stops straight. The floor boards are rust free and the frame and suspension components are also free from rust. Updated with all new wiring and a late model General Motors steering column. All the wiring, switches and controls are from a 1991 Camaro. The steering column controls are all hooked up and working. There is a fuse box with flashers and relays (it's easier to change a fuse than to replace a bad or burnt wire). All wire ends are soldered, not crimped, then heat shrink sealed. The turn signals work and turn off after a turn, it has 4-way emergency flashers, a wiper control switch on the turn signal lever. Headlights with Hi and Low beam are controlled by pulling back on the turn signal lever and are correctly aimed so you see the road in front of you. Horn is activated by pushing the steering wheel center cap. Tilt wheel steering column makes it easier to get in and out by moving the wheel to the up position, and also has a locking steering wheel when the key is removed. These features are common in todays cars but very rare in a Dune Buggy. All newer vehicles have these controls on the column, but on a Dune Buggy it is a big deal. The time to adapt the column and do the complete front to back wiring took me 60 hours to complete and I've done wiring many times. If you ask other owners if these functions work, you will be surprised. Windshield wipers have been re-engineered to be functional. This is also very rare in a Dune Buggy. When wipers are on, they sweep a large area of the windshield and clean the area of water to allow visibility. They have a fast and slow speed, a single pass function and also a park feature that stops them at the bottom of the windshield where they should stop. If you look at other Buggy's or read forums you will quickly find out, that a lot of them do not work. This is something you will also be very glad to have. Transaxle/Transmission has just been rebuilt and the shifter is new. It shift easily and precisely. Picture shows it apart and ready for assembly with the stamping number showing. AO812838 Engine is a 1973 1600 dual port, AH309035 Rebuilt less than 4 years ago, that now has a new tune up, Electronic ignition, valves adjusted, oil change and all new gaskets and seals. Engine does not leak any oil. Starts right up and purrs like a kitten. MORE STUFF Fuel gauge works accurately, full when tank is full and empty when tank is empty.Front seats are adjustable.Console added, you need a place to put your stuff!Tires have less than a hundred miles on them.Front suspension ride height is adjustable.Brakes have many new parts and work like they should.Rear suspension has been properly adjusted to keep tires flat on the road. This keeps the top of the rear tires from sticking out too far and causing handling problems.Has H4 headlights which are brighter than regular bulb type.Windshield is the hard to find shorter version that is tinted to reduce glare.Dash is new with new Autometer gauges and there is a charging port for your Cell phone or Laptop.The wires for a tachometer and a radio are part of the new wiring, they are clearly marked, this will save a lot of work if you would like to add either one of these. Speedometer is fully operable. Mph, Odometer, Turn signal indicator lamp, Hi beam indicator lamp, Charging indicator lamp and Night illumination all work as they should.Tri-mil exhaust system is the best in the business and gives a nice throaty sound without being loud.Metal Flake Paint is very different than Metalics and Pearls which is on many cars today. In the sun, it glitters and sparkles like you've never seen. This is the effect many Buggy's had when new but, you never see it any more. The cost of a Metal Flake paint job is staggering and trying to find someone with experience to do it might be a challenge. I have taken about 20 pics to show the effect of Metal Flake in the sun.
