Vehicle Detail
This is my 1972 Chrysler New Yorker. This car is in pretty good condition overall and optioned nicely. Equipped with the power bucket seats, tilt wheel, ac, power locks, power windows, cruise and the legendary 440 v8. Original to the car, the engine is stamped 1971 with the steel crank & factory Holley 4 barrel. The engine also has electronic ignition, and a nice Flow Master dual exhaust system with chrome exhaust tips. The front tires are brand new. The master cylinder is new also. The seats are rare & look nice. Condition: The top has a few rust bubbles, but is still in good shape. The front splash pan is dented. The right rear behind the tire has a small dent. The only rust spot on the car that I have found is one the bottom of the left front fender about the size of a nickel. Paint is almost all original, with a few scratches in various places. Odometer is a little over 70k miles, & was told to me as true. The previous owner said the dmv recorded the mileage as 77,600 incorrectly. I'm the 4th owner. From what I can tell, it's a 70k mile car, not a 170 or 270k mile car. The brake pedal pad wear is low, the glass is not all chipped up, or any serious wear on the seats. Carpet should be replaced, and on the door panels as well. Brakes are good, front tires new & rears good. Chrome is pretty decent for an old car. Trunk pan is nice. The underside is nice, floorboards, frame rails, spring perches are all great. Cruise control switch knob needs to be fixed (I have not tried the cruise though so I don't know if it works or not). Power window switch is new, 3 of the windows go up & down fine, the right rear one is a hit or miss, mostly miss. Ac is still under charge, but does not work. The previous owner stated the atc module needs to be repaired or replaced. I have not looked into it yet. The 440 is a sweetheart of an engine. The car runs down the road like it should. Crager mag wheels have the chrome peeling off & rust spots. I have no other parts for the car. Lights & brake & turn signals (including the cool fender indicators) work. My overall impression is that it's a neat old car, and in very good shape for something over 40 years old. The comments from others have all been positive, with most saying that it's been along time since they saw one of these. A 2 door factory 440 car, almost rust free. It's been garage kept most of it's life. It's easy and fun to work on.You could easily tinker with it as you go and take it up a few levels. It's a survivor car. Anyways, ask any question you might have before bidding on it. You can send me your questions, or if your really serious call me (502)396-8125.
