1929 Plymouth model U 4 door sedan restored as a taxi cab. The whole floor restored steel. The motor rebuilt. the vintage horn works well. The generator rebuilt and works great. The oil pressure above 40 pounds. Separate oil gauge since original is there but does not work. Added a water temp gauge under dash out of sight. very nice interior but not a $3000 job. Hardwood in back around seats and back window. all window cranks and door handles work. All windows are glass except driver side back quarter panel (plexiglas) . Dome light works well (also 2 floor lights in back light up with dome light) with either of the two slide switchs on posts between front and back seats. nice acceleration. Shifts well with synchronized shifting as was original in this car. All brakes rebuilt and are excellent with great stopping power. Brakes are hydraulic as was standard with this year car. Windshield wiper motor is there but not connected to vacuum tank. Switch from gravity fed gas to 6v electric pump with fuel regulators for reliable and safety reasons. Brake light works well. Front bumpers not there. Back bumper a full bumper using not a 1929 Plymouth bumper. Headlights and parking lights work well. Emergency brake works and can be adjusted as needed. Back seat upper vanity lights work left and right separately via slide switches below armrests. Two front and two back speakers are there if player is put in (all speaker wires under das - not cheap speakers). The back speakers built into the cloth areas below the armrests. Nice ceiling material. Dual outside mirrors. New roof is very nice but again not professionally installed. 6v pos ground electrical system maintained. A second 6v battery is installed below the seat to allow 12v access under dash for radio or player if wanted. Both batteries new and over $100 each (not cheap batteries), Starts right up. Choke and distributer advance controls on dash. Gas tank was reconditioned with original working outside gas gauge. Note that 4 separate beautiful wooden wheels and very good tires made for this car are included with the purchase. These wheels and tires are worth over $1000 by themselves! I bought these wheels, not because I needed them but because I had the opportunity to get them and so I did. The wheels on the car are fine and brakes well so I didn't want to change the wheels and tires just because the ones I bought look a little better. Speedometer does not work. Also included is a VINTAGE WORKING TAXI METER (shown in the pics). I had it in the car but took it out. It has a two leg stand which rests on the front floor and a rod which extends under the dash to a screw supprt. The meter winds up and when the flag is pulled down, counts off the amount of money in regular ten cent incremenmts. The car runs well but like all cars over 80 years old, one should have some experience with antique autos. There is always something to adjust after time. The are small oil drips over time under oil pan although oil pan beautiful with no rust. Most the cars with vintage motors drip a bit of oil. The motor runs well with my choke fully closed. I think it uses more gas that way but I don't know much about carb ajustments and would prefer to leave well enough alone. Inspections welcome.
