Vehicle Detail

This is a barn find and an estate car. I bought it out of a barn at an estate auction in Coleman Texas. The car was sold as not running but the son of the deceased gave me a tip that it was the best running car of several at the auction. It runs, drives and stops with no problems at all. The patina is what we are all looking for in a vintage car! Here's what we have done with the car. 1. Trailered it home 2. Remove the gas tank, cleaned it out, replaced the fuel filter. 3. Installed a new battery and the wires from the starter and coil to the ignition switch. 4. Checked all the fluids and started it up. Yep, it was that simple! 5. Washed the exterior with Tide detergent and cleaned the interior. Pulled the old headliner that was hanging down out and put a cheap seat cover on the rear seat that is just a good set of springs with no problems. 6. Drove it down the road with the grandkids!!!!!! Original down to the bumper jack and tire tool and even the spring that holds down the original spare tire. We love the mudgrips that were still on the back! The radio and all of the lights still work. The motor is as quiet as any I have ever heard. The tranny, clutch and brake are working just like they are supposed to and the doors shut with that special Chevy sound of a solid shoebox!! Here's what I would do to the car 1. The tires hold air and I have driven on them ever since we got the car, but they are dry rotted and need to be replaced. 2. The windshield glass has seperated between the two piecs of glass and should be replaced. $95 a side. 3. The seats would be drivers with a Mexican blanket, but would be nice with new covers. 4. Drive the heck out of it! It's just a really cool car and worth doing what ever you wanted from a rat rod to a show car. The only cancer is some pinholes in the trunk that I have included a close up pic of. I have the stainless spears for both doors but not the ones for the front fenders. Fender spears are the same for coupes and sedans so can be found for a reasonable amount. This item has bill of sale only, the title was lost long ago! I can provide you with the info and a contact to obtain a Texas clear title for this car. The is advertised locally in the DFW area on craigs and I reserve the right to sell it locally before this auction ends. Winning bidder is responsible for pick-up or shipping. On Jul-18-13 at 13:43:07 PDT, seller added the following information: This car is not an automatic transmission. It is a 3 speed column shift. I have attempted to change the description but unable to change it after bids.
