I have a 1981 El Camino that I have been restoring for sale . It has a V-6, 229 ENGINE WITH 3 SPEEDS ON THE FLOOR I GOT THIS CAR TO RESTORE IT BUT DUE TO MY HEALTH, I NEED TO SELL IT It is drivable. It still needs some restoration work but runs well. So far this is what I can tell you about my El Camino The body is primed and it needs painting It has minor tears on the driver side of the bench seat. It has minor rusted areas around edges of wheel wells. It is missing the chrome piece at top of trunk lid. I have the other chrome pieces stored and in good shape. I recently had the engine overhauled with new shaft kit, timing gear kit and overhauled the heads, installed new wires and plugs (the approximate cost was $1,100.00 parts and labor). I had all brakes on rear (back plate, piston, pads and drums) on both sides replaced. Last fall I had the front brake pads replaced.The park brake sticks. I have replaced the following; BELTS, AIR FILTER, PCV VALVE, MUFFLER AND TAIL PIPE AND CLAMPS, FRONT BRAKE PADS, ALL REAR BRAKES - BACK PLATE TO THE DRUM, I HAVE A NEW BATTERY FOR IT. The trunk bed has black protective liner paint on inside I had the cracked front windshield REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE. I MAINTAIN IT LUBRICATED (LUB AND OIL AND GREASED) EVERY 2000 MILES.
