Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-ZA X-NONE X-NONE 1972 Jeep CJ-5 with 258 I6 engine and 3 speed T150 transmission VIN# J2F835TH19457 I am relisting this vehicle with no reserve since the head gasket is now blown. Everything was working well until it overheated on Friday and blew the head gasket. So now I’m selling it as is cause I’m not spending any more money on this white elephant. The transmission is not synchronised in first or reverse gear and that's a bit of a pain to get used. I don't have the time to go through and repair all the rust spots and poor repairs made by previous owners to the body. Someone before me rhino lined most of the sheet metal. The VIN# clearly shows this to be a 1972 CJ-5 with a 304 V8 and that is how it is titled, but it looks like this Jeep was built from three different Jeeps. The body is from a 1980 CJ-7 the chassis appears to be a 1976 model with disc front brakes and the date code on the 258 I6 says it was built on September 14 1975 and the disc brakes on the front weren't available till about that year as well. I have not had this Jeep very long it was intended to be a daily driver and long term project. Well it has did great as a daily driver until the thermostat failed and the engine overheated which caused the head gasket to give way. I don't have the time or energy between radiation treatments to do this project anymore. I love driving offroad vehicles I can't keep this one. I need to sell it for as much as I can to pay for my cancer treatments which are also the reason I don't have time to repair or replace the things that are wrong. The gauges are working but the fuel sending unit needs to be replaced everything else worked just fine, it has a soft top and doors which I have never installed and the axles under her are "original" so I'm guessing Dana 20/30 front and rear. The tires are Procomp LT265/75 R16 and they're OK but only about 50% left at this point and 5 inches taller than the factory 27 inch tires. Any other questions just ask me I'll tell you all I know about her. On Jul-08-13 at 08:39:07 PDT, seller added the following information: OK I replaced the radiator and the head gasket, the Jeep is now running once again. I said I wouldn't spend any more money on this vehicle but I couldn't just leave it alone I had to make it right. So it runs now and I'm back to driving it daily again.
