Vehicle Detail
Time to sell this cool looking 1977 Chevy truck as I don't have the time or $ to restore it. It is in pretty good condition including the seat cover upholstery which had been covered with an old saddle blanket style cover. After taking off the old cover, this original upholstery is in excellent condition. There are the usual cosmetic/replaceable/repairable problems as seen in trucks of this age: the dashboard has cracks from the sun/heat in the top etc. some of the outside trim is missing, we do have one piece but it needs to be glued on. The passenger side window handle looks like it was glued onto the metal pin, the heater slider seems to be stuck open enough to blow warm air whenever the truck is running, the wipers need replacing. On the bottom of the passenger front wheel well, there's some bubbling up of the paint. We had gotten it last year from a friend that lives over 200 miles away, drove it home & it ran fine. It has the Chevy 350 motor, manual 4 speed on the floor, 4WD, tires are almost new (great tread), spare tire, tailgate will open close & latch. When we got it, it looked kind of faded but my wife recently took to it with some polish & elbow grease, bringing out a deep, rich Burgundy color, but there are some flaws as to be expected with a truck this old. This truck was owned by an older gentleman for many years before my friend acquired it and I from him. To my knowledge both of them used it for hauling lawn debris, garbage can stuff, wood for small home construction projects etc. I would guess that the mileage is just that, 69197. Comes with the original manual. This a great truck for someone to restore, wish I could do it but unfortunately I can't. I've tried to describe it best I could, but if you have any questions or would like to see more pictures, let me know. I've added 2 more photos that show the rust on the driver's side rear wheel well, and also the front passenger side between the front wheel and the door. As you can see in one of the closeups, there is some finish pitting at the bottom which probably happened before the runners had been added. More info: It does have 2 gas tanks, although the gauges on the tanks may not be totally accurate. The speedometer seems to waver once you hits speeds over 40 mph. Lights and turn signals all work. Horn works. It has a rear bumper hitch.
