Pretty sure it's a 1972. The date on the tag is 10/72. I bought this bike basically because of the original tank and exhaust. I know how rare original pipes are. They are not rotted and they sound just like they should for a 72 bike. They is a small ding on the right pipe and right side of tank. The chrome is real nice but not mint. All I did with this bike is use steel wool to get the surface rust off. There is no wax anywhere. I'm sure with wax the pipes would look even better. The bike does run on first or second kick and is a blast to drive. The front brake does not work. Long story short I'm listing it for someone who wants to ride a rusty crusty survivor or wants the pipes and the rest of the bike for parts. Some other things are the gas cap does not lock down, no mirrors, or battery, but I will start it here for you with the dead battery that's in it. Only a bill of sale from ct is what I have. It's as is. No seat or side covers. That seat is a seat I bought on eBay for 125.00 for a Honda 500. It fits the bike in a way of laying on top and the locking pin, locking. But the hinge is in the wrong location. I hate to part with the seat but for an extra 125.00 over the eBay sale price I will let it go.
