Vehicle Detail
Selling our beloved YJ! Year: 1995Make: JeepModel: WranglerTrim: SEEngine: 4.0L High Output, Inline 6Transmission: 5 Speed ManualDrive type: 4 wheel driveMileage: ~121,570Ext. Color: Emerald GreenInt. Color: Tan/BrownDoors/Tops: Half doors, Soft Top and Bikini Windjammer & Duster VIN: 1J4FY29SXSP230264 As much as it pains us we need to sell our 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ. This Jeep is in GREAT CONDITION MECHANICALLY with ~121,600 miles. It has never been in an accident. It drives and handles wonderfully whether taking it easy on surface streets or fighting Houston traffic at 70 mph on the freeway. Everything is original, no engine/transmission/transfer-case/axle etc. swaps or modifications. The engine starts right up, idles smoothly and quietly, is very torquey, and just passed Texas emissions testing first try with flying colors. The engine bay is extremely clean. The clutch and shifts are smooth and clean. Transfer case shifts into and out of 4 Hi and 4 Lo no problem. The undercarriage is also in excellent condition, only minor surface rust. The tires are 235/75 R15 BF Goodrich All-Terrains with plenty of tread left wrapped around American Racing wheels (spare wheel and tire are still original). The rear of the Jeep has Steel Horse "bumperettes", a Steel Horse spare tire stop, and tow hitch. The interior is in good shape as well. The air conditioner works great and blows very cold air. All lights, gauges, and horn work. It comes with factory half-doors, a full Bestop soft-top that is in great shape (other than the windows for the doors) and a Bestop bikini top, WindJammer & Duster (the later 3 have never been used and are in brand new condition). It has a JVC KD-G510 CD/MP3 Sirius ready head unit, dash, door and weatherproof Soundwedge 6x9 speaker enclosures (only dash speakers are hooked up at the moment). My wife is the 2nd owner of this Jeep. She purchased it used in 1997 with 23,000 miles on it in the Chicago area then moved to the dry West Texas desert in 2002. In 2009 it moved with us to Houston, TX. Where it unfortunately became our weekend transportation to the dog park and grocery store. It has been garage kept since ~2005. As a result of having been in the Chicago area there is a rust issue on the windshield frame. In the bottom center you can see rust has formed underneath the paint. It also rusted the bottoms of the aftermarket "nerfbars". These are cheapy's that can easily be removed or replaced. This is the only rust of any significance. The suspension, frame, undercarriage etc. are in great shape and very clean with only minor surface rust. As a result of being in hot and dry West Texas, some of the paint on the hood has oxidized (the rest of the paint is in good shape), some of the black plastic has faded, and the windows for the doors have yellowed and cracked, and the zippers have started to detach. They still provide a barrier to the outside but will need to be replaced at some point. The rest of the soft top (including windows) is in great shape. Other issues: Cracked windshield, center console lid broken, minor wear and tear on bottom part of driver seat, and minor damage to rear passenger side plastic fender flare. I've tried to cover everything here and in the video above. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me and I will do what I can to get you an answer. We love this Jeep and hope it goes to someone who will appreciate and love it as much as we have! Happy bidding! On Jun-23-13 at 09:41:00 PDT, seller added the following information: 06/23/13 UPDATE This morning a potential bidder stopped by to take a look at the Jeep. As he was checking it out we lifted the carpet around the front seats and noticed some additional rust on the floor boards around the drain holes that I missed and want you to be aware of. Please click on the link below to see video of the area. The rust has not penetrated the tube as can be seen in the video of the undercarriage. Please contact me if you'd like additional photos or info of this or anything else on the Jeep. It was an error and has been removed from their report.
