Vehicle Detail
1973 Chevy Yenko Vega Let me start by answering 2 questions that everybody will have. Yes and I don't know. Yes, Yenko Chevrolet modified Vegas and I don't know if this is one. So here's what I have for sale. You are bidding on a 1973 Vega. I have owned it for 10 years. I have done nothing with it and that includes driving it. I bought it as you see it and was going to try to find its history. Hasn't happened in 10 years and I don't see it happening anytime soon so I'm offering it for sale. It was originally sold at a dealership outside of Detroit. I will provide the name of the dealer to the winning bidder. I bought it from somebody out of upstate New York. He told me that he bought from somebody in Michagin and that it was found in a barn. The odometer shows 27,xxxxxxxx and I believe it to be original. The car is green with a black interior. It has some very interesting add on performance parts. Turbo system from the early 70s, Moroso high performance distributor, carberator, aftermarket gauges, and aftermarket traction bars. Engine: It is a 4 cylinder. It ran when I got it and has been sitting. It will not start and I believe that it is the points. There is no spark. It ran ok when i got it. It needed adjusting and tunin including carberator and valves. Turbo works. The turbo is an early 70s piece. 4 speed manual transmission, which is original to the car. 12 bolt posi rear, which I believe is also original to the car. Aftermarket traction bars that have been on there forever. These are also early 70s. Interior: The interior is factory black with bucket seats. It's in great shape and original. Aftermarket gauges in the dash, which have been there since the 70s. They were put in very neat and clean. Everything appears to work ok. Fold down rear seat. Everything, including the carpet appears to be original. The carpet is faded. The other day after it rained I noticed that the carpet on the drivers side front was wet. Body: The paint is older but looks good. All panels are original with no replacement panels that I can find. I believe the paint in the door jams is original. There is rust starting to come through. Mainly on some sections toward the bottom and rear wheel well lips. The rear panel has rust as well. The trunk floor has rust holes. Overall the car can be driven as is, once it is running. It will need some rust repair on the rear quarter wheel well lips. It is a fun car that starts a lot of conversations. No I do not have any paperwork for it showing it to be a Yenko. I have no idea if it is real or not. Yes Yenko made Vegas. Regardless, it is a neat car that deserves to be driven and enjoyed, something I have not done with it. Please let me know if you would like anymore photos or of a specific area. I am available for any questions. A $500.00 deposit will be needed at the end of the auction. I can assist with arranging shipping. I am not a dealer or car flipper but will do what I can with shipping. The car is sold with a bill of sale only Connecticut does not issue titles for vehicles of this age.
